"I have always loved working with animals, and I knew from a young age this was what I wanted to do. I have been working in veterinary medicine for 12 years. I started as a kennel assistant in a general practice in Corpus Christi and worked my way up to veterinary assistant before I decided to get my license. I attended the Blinn College Veterinary Technician Program and graduated in 2017. After getting my license, I began working at BluePearl Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital in the Internal Medicine department. I immediately fell in love with specialty practice and decided I would work towards getting my VTS in Internal Medicine. I am very passionate and vocal about my love for this field which prompted my involvement in VTAT. I want to make this profession sustainable, not only financially but mentally as well, for all of us that love what we do." - Cortney Evins, LVT
