Technology events in Asheville, NC for March 2020
I trust everyone made the most of their leap day yesterday — maybe even a little offline sledding? Now, Spring is just around the corner and things are warming up with some new tech events and some changes.
New this month is a free Kids Code event, hosted by Tech Talent South. It is a two-hour workshop on Saturday morning, March 14 (Pi Day!), for hands-on coding fun. See below for details.
And now for the changes:
As I'm sure you've heard, Earth Fare has closed all of their stores. We have several groups that used to meet at the Skyland store, and they have found themselves suddenly displaced and are looking for new homes. The WNC Linux User Group is among them, and they are meeting a little later in the month as a result (also Pi Day), and will be at the Skyland/South Buncombe Library at 260 Overlook Rd. The group will be trying a few different venues in coming months.
The Asheville Makers are now holding member business meetings and maintenance nights on some Tuesdays, so if you are not a member, the open houses are now on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, rather than weekly. They will continue to have a dinner get-together before the open house on the third Tuesday of the month.
That's it for this month, but make sure to follow @avltechevents on Twitter for mid-month updates.
