The CWEA is a 501(c)3 that helps bring the neighborhood together with events like the CWE Home & Garden Tour, the Annual Gala, monthly First Friday Happy Hours that celebrate new businesses, and many more events that help promote growth and prosperity in the CWE. The CWEA is planning a CWE wide Home & Garden tour
for the year 2020!
Any homeowner in the Central West End interested in putting your home, condominium and/or garden on the June 5-7th CWE Home & Garden Tour can contact cwea@thecwe.org to discuss details. The Kick-Off Party will be held in one tour home on the evening of Friday, June 5. All tour homes will be open to ticket holders Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 from 10a - 4pm.

Saturday, March 7 - Saturday Story Time at New City School - Join us for stories, songs, crafts (and coffee!) at New City! During the school year, Heidi Kehle (one of our wonderful preschool teachers), shares her stories and musical magic through Story Time each month from 9:30 - 11:00 am in the New City School Library. Stories and activities are designed for children from infant/toddler through second grade. Saturday Story Time is free and snacks are provided. You can also sign up to receive updates about upcoming Story Time Saturdays!
Saturday, March 7 - Premier Martial Arts - “Off Season Training for Wrestling” - Help give your child the edge with off season martial arts training at Premier Martial Arts. Our kids curriculum focuses on Kickboxing, Karate, Krav Maga, and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. Build strength, confidence, and skills with our team of certified instructors. Saturday, March 7 - World Chess Hall of Fame - Family Day: Robotics with the Challenger Learning Center - 1-4p - Join the Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis for a special Family Day inspired by "Ground Control: a Journey Through Chess and Space!" Our friends at CLCSTL will be hosting a special robotics activity using Spheros, or spherical robots, that foster creativity through discovery and play, all while laying the foundation for computer science. Drop in at any time during the event time frame to learn how to program, control, and navigate your robot! Light refreshments and special gift bags provided. Recommended for children ages 7 and up.

Sunday, March 8 - Left Bank Books - 2-3p - Jeff Fleischer - Votes of Confidence - Left Bank Books presents jouranlist and author, Jeff Fleischer, who will be discussing his book Votes of Confidence, 2nd Edition: A Young Person's Guide to American Elections, which gives an in-depth introduction to the electoral college, the history of debates, political parties, how to get involved even if you’re not old enough to vote, and more.
Wednesday, March 11 - CWE Gives Back Day - help make a difference in your own community! Shop and dine throughout the neighborhood to support Shriners Hospitals for Children - St. Louis, during the CWE's 4th Annual Give Back Day. Participating CWE businesses will donate 10% of the day's sales to Shriners.
Shriners is a wonderful CWE-based organization, providing specialized care to children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and other complex surgical needs.

Thursday, March 12 - World Chess Hall of Fame - Composer Series: Chamber Project of St. Louis Presents: TENACITY—Join us for a concert that explores works by composers dealing with subjects almost too painful to bear, coupled with composers on the other side of tragedy, revealing hope beyond the pain. Friday, March 13 - Premier Martial Arts - Minecraft Parents Night Out - Join us for this awesome Minecraft-themed Parents Night Out. We will learn cool karate moves, punch bags, do crafts and play team, individual and free-for-all games. We'll take a break for pizza and then back to the action! The event will be held from 5:30p-8:00p. $25/child (ages 5-12 years)
Saturday, March 14 - Ballroom Dance Academy of St. Louis - Monthly Dance Social - "LEAPING LEPRECHAUNS" - General Dancing 8:00-10:30pm(note: there is no dance lesson this time) $12/person, for students with valid ID: $5/person cash preferred; light refreshments included. Wednesday, March 18 - World Chess Hall of Fame - 6:30-8p - Crafts & Cocktails: Framed Glass Pendants with Yuko Suga - Join us for an evening of jewelry designing with Yuko Suga! A featured artist in the exhibit "A Beautiful Game," Suga will guide participants through creating unique images considering identity that will then be transformed into a one-of-a-kind framed glass pendant that plays off of the idea of a modern dog tag. Cathedral Concerts announces their 2019 - 2020 season - Saint Louis Cathedral Concerts, an independent nonprofit that brings sacred and classical music to St. Louis from world-class musicians, releases its concert lineup for the 27th season. The 2019-2020 season kicks off Monday, July 29th at 8:00pm, and continues through Friday, April 21st, 2020.
