This Week at SMT

There will be a baptism this week at SMT! We will welcome into the church John Brian Gerber. He is the son of Caitlin and Jacob Gerber. His sponsors are James and Lauren Bryant, and Lindsey Song. Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.

Lenten Discipline Leviticus 3:16 All Fat Belongs to the Lord
Each week after church in order to get a little more exercise, some of us will walk from the church to the top of Castle Point and back.  Take a few minutes after church to exercise and meditate on the gift that is our bodies. And wear your tennis shoes!

The Mile Square Cathedral
All Saints will be hosting events to remember the victims of the fires between 1978-1983. On Saturday March 7
from 10:00 am until 12 pm, there will be a  Prayer Walk to some of the fire locations and those places of hope and renewal that grew out of these tragedies. the walk will begin at 67 Park Ave.  There will also be an Interfaith Service of Remembrance on Sunday, March 15 at 4:00 pm at 701 Washington Street.

Lenten Bible Study
Our weekly Bible Study will continue this week on Tuesday, March 10 at 2:30 pm. There will also be an evening bible study on the Words of The Cross at Chise Koyama's house on Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 pm. For more information please call Chise at (917) 689-3398 or Pastor Gary at (73) 449-2577.
Stewardship: Time, Talent, & Treasure
We are grateful that our church now has 26 pledges for 2020! We joyfully add new voices each week. For 2019 we had 26 pledges which was an increase from previous years.  As Pastor said in his letter last week, “The pledge card is not a contract or an ironclad commitment. It is a prayerful hope of our intentions. Pledging allows us to take stock of our resources and prioritize what is important to us. It is never too late to pledge."
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
 …2 Corinthians 9:7

Youth Nights at St John's Lutheran Church
St John's is hosting a youth night from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesdays for kids between the ages of 12 and 18 at their church at 155 North St in Jersey City Heights. Activities will include basketball, board games, arts and crafts, and more! Sunday Hospitality ~ Enjoy our abundance!

Every Sunday after service we enjoy coffee or juice as well as both healthy and sweet snacks. We have a small group of members who supply these snacks, and we welcome more people to join us. Please contact Leslie Neve on any Sunday or email her at leslie.neve13@gmail.com

We Need Your Help to Keep The Prayer List Current
Please email me at Office@stmatthewtrinity.org to add and remove names from the prayer list. We will remove names after one month unless otherwise notified.

Spread the Word on the St. Matthew Trinity Center

Brick by Brick! Step by Step! Day by Day! Last week there were  more bricks donated to this fabulous project. There are flyers available or you may go online, www.stmatthewtrinity.org, to make a donation. It’s not too late! Spread the word. Tell your family and friends. Share with local businesses that may want to support a newly renovated space on Washington Street that will improve the  neighborhood that we share.   “In everything, do to others as you would have them do to you.”  Matthew 7:12

Greetings from Lunchtime Ministry

Greetings from Lunchtime Ministry! This week we served 255 guests with the help of 27 volunteers. It's been another good week with free haircuts this past Monday, and our volunteers preparing stellar meals.
This month, we are especially in need of RAZORS. These can be dropped off during LTM hours or on Sunday mornings, or they can be ordered from our Amazon wish list (https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/32YGAW4XW37K4/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1). As always, thank you for your vital support of this vital ministry.
