Upcoming Career / Recruiting Events:

  • PVCC's Cybersecurity Club is hosting Cybersecurity Day TODAY, Monday, 3/2, 12-2pm in PVCC's North Mall Meeting Room. Pizza provided to participants! Presentations will be from representatives from the Dept. of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity Agency, Congress, CounterFlow AI, Shentel, Charlottesville Police Dept. and Virginia's Public Safety Division. Learn about careers, educational pathways, skill sets the employer is seeking and where the industry is heading. 
  • U.S. Census 2020 will be recruiting on campus in PVCC's Bolick Student Center on Tuesday, 3/3, from 10:30am-2pm. Hourly wage depends on where you reside; Charlottesville residents make $22/hour (Albemarle residents earn $21.50/hour)!
  • This Tuesday (3/3, 4-6pm), take advantage of PVCC's Drop-In Job-Win / LinkedIn Photo Booth (in PVCC's Student Center) to get a good picture for social media and/or get your resume critiqued. 
  • Virginia Career Works will have Ganir & Co./Quirk HotelUVA Temps and U.S. Census 2020 recruiting at 944 Glenwood Station Lane, Thursday, 3/5, 10:30am-12pm. 
  • National Ground Intelligence Center is hosting a Virtual College Career Fair through THIS FRIDAY, March 6th. Interviews for candidates selected from the Virtual College Fair will be notified via symplicity and interviews and on-the-spot job offers will occur on March 26, 2020 at the Carver Recreation Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (in Cville).  Students may also attend in-person the career fair and hiring event which will be held on Wed., March 25 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30p.m. at the Carver Recreation Center. This includes hiring for Entry Level and Summer Internship positions for 2021 (due to how long the security clearance takes to process).
  • The Wool Factory Restaurant (in the Woolen Mills neighborhood) is hosting an Open House/Hiring Event on Saturday, March 7, 2-4pm (as well as Wed., 3/11, 4-6pm). Hourly positions begin at $12.50/hour.  They seek Bartenders, Servers, Baristas, Hosts, Pastry and Line Cooks, Wine Shopkeepers, and Dishwashers. Resumes encouraged but not required. Please be ready to interview. 
  • Because next week is PVCC's Spring Break, we will not be writing a weekly eNewsletter.  We wanted to make you aware that there is a Richmond Career Expo with 75+ employers from all industries in case you're interested in working in Richmond.  The event is open to all.  Please check College Central Network and Facebook for local jobs and events before we resume on Monday, March 16.  Have a great spring break!

  • The Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection is looking for Volunteers to help them engage their audiences and support their staff.

  • Do you qualify for Work Study at PVCC? If so, the Business, Math & Technology Division is seeking a student to help them. Just stop by M270 and talk with them!!
  • ScribeAmerica seeks PT/FT Medical Scribes for hospitals across the U.S. (the nearest are Richmond and Culpeper).  The job involves taking notes for doctors as they make their rounds at the hospital. Great job for pre-med or other healthcare students!
