March 2020 News

THANK YOU!

We want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who came to our social event in February to tell us your dreams for work-life balance, and experience the very FIRST Nestworks pop-up in Vancouver.

Second, a massive gratitude shout-out to Felicia Chang for her fantastic photos of the event. We've included some shots below, and you can visit the full album here. Felicia is a photographer and videographer who weaves stories to help people and organizations further their message, and you can follow her on Instagram @feliciachangphoto.

And finally a big shout-out to Pacific Immigrant Resource Society's Pop-Up Child Care service for providing the wonderful caregivers who kept our community's children occupied and happy at the event.

Help us crowdfund to create Nestworks!

Finally, we're still looking for people who are knowledgeable in running crowdfunding campaigns who have some time to help us:
  • Crowdfunding experts/strategists
  • Finance or crowdfunding goal expert (by the way, we're seeking a new Board Treasurer)
  • Digital marketers
  • PR pros
  • Graphic designers
  • Folks who are members of parent Facebook groups
  • Anyone else who can help us spread the word when the campaign goes live.
Please sign up here to contribute.

Many thanks for your support as we work to create Nestworks.

Kitchen Table Chat with Natalie Voland

This month we talk to a Nestworks supporter on the Canadian East Coast!

What is your professional background and current role?
I am a Real Estate Developer and President of Gestion Immobiliere Quo Vadis.

What are 3-6 words that describe you?

Tenacious, Value Driven, Community Builder

What is your experience with managing parenting and your professional life?

I have two daughters and four companies. Work-life balance is the biggest challenge.

What excites you the most about the idea of Nestworks, a family-friendly workspace?

I was fortunate enough that when my kids were small, that I could bring them to work. It made all the difference in our lives as I could not take a maternity leave being an entrepreneur. I was more productive, my kids loved being with my staff and clients, and I could stop feeling guilty when at home with the kids as I was not working, and feeling guilty when I was at work that I was missing time with my kids. Places like Nestworks will allow more families to have the best of both worlds: successful parents and healthy businesses!

Anything else you'd like to share?

Continue your great work at Nestworks, and don't give up!

Thank you for chatting with us, Natalie!
