Neighborhood Construction Update
Here’s a brief update the construction projects on 41st and 42nd Aves. N.
- Bill Pierce and Jim Gagliardi, owners of the property at 1025 42nd Ave. N originally intended to build their personal homes on that lot. If you have driven by that property, you know those two lots are now for sale. The developers told the neighborhood association board that one lot already has a contract.
- Pierce and Gagliardi also told the board that they have submitted plans to the city to re-plat the property. The current home at 915 41st Ave. N., a Cade Allen home, will remain and be remodeled. The plan is to have two new lots platted facing 42nd Ave. N.; one lot will be 90 feet wide, the other lot will be 75 feet wide. There will be one new lot facing 41st Ave. N, which will be 75 feet wide.

Council of Neighborhood Associations News
Pam Smith, association vice president, attends Saint Petersburg’s Council of Neighbor Associations. This group meets monthly to share information about what’s happening across the city and how various neighbor associations’ activities. About 40 to 60 people attend these information meetings.
Here’s her report from the Feb. 19 meeting:
- "First speaker was Gina Gallo from the city’s Census Complete Count Committee. She spoke about how important the count is to funding from the state and county. She said that notification about the online census form will start in March. If there isn’t a response via the online form, a census worker will come to your residence.
- “The second speaker was Thomas Paterek, past president of Crescent Heights Neighborhood Association. He spoke about a grant their neighborhood association received for beautification. That grant included a mural and planting on city-owned land. He also talked a little about how to get a grant.
- “Finally, the district police officers spoke about what’s going on in each of their districts. Car theft was a hot topic. And, of course, most car thefts involved unlocked vehicles. Remember: LOCK your car and remove your valuables.”
