Taking Care of Passengers and the Planet
We’ve come a long way since the steam ships of yesterday. Today, cruise lines have their eye on the health of their planet and of their passengers. Cruise lines are building new Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) ships, committing to using less plastic on board, and recycling materials whenever possible. On board, ships have expanded hand washing stations and sanitizing stations to ensure every cruiser stays healthy while they travel.
Expanding Itineraries
Along with advancements in sustainability, cruise lines have also continued to craft new itineraries and ships to inspire people to see the world. In particular, the industry has seen a huge expansion of river cruising. These itineraries provide cruisers with the chance to see more of Europe and have immersive experiences with the convenience of only having to unpack once.
Fun for Everyone
The world of ocean cruising is also abuzz this month with Virgin Voyages first ship, the Scarlet Lady, setting sail. (Check out this brochure!!) This adults-only cruise line is set to rock the boat and take cruising to a whole new level. New ships from Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line will be making a splash with families when they debut later this year.
