Votes on Expenditures

Scooter Rack
Plans for adding a Scooter rack to help clear the bike shed have been confirmed, Three racks will be installed in the grass area along the office walls. They will not covered but there is scope for covering them later on. Up to 50 scooters to be parked outside the cycle parking.
Members present at the meeting voted yes to allocate £1,000 towards it.

Grow your Own playground
The school has requested £750 to cover the maintenance and development of the area by Y4 classes.  These take place through activities led by the teachers and aimed at familiarising children with plants.
Members present at the meeting voted yes to allocate the requested funds. The funds will cover the costs associated with these activities until the summer.

Other Business

Hackney Music Festival at Round Chapel
This Borough-wide Festival is organised by Hackney Music Services. Over the last few years, music teacher Mr Picket led the representation of the School in the Festival through the After-School Clubs.
We have placed a request with the Head Teacher to see if the Music Team could organise the participation of Shacklewell in the Festival this year.
Members present at the meeting agreed to fund in principle the associated costs, should the project go through.

Cups
We use a lot of paper cups at each events. Aside from the expense, it is quite a wasteful practice.
We discussed investing in reusable plastic cups instead as they become more environmentally friendly after 20 uses.  As a first step, we agree to try and convince the School's kitchen to let us use their own cups provided we are shown how to wash and sanitise them to the School's standards. To be continued...
