Dear <<First Name>>,

Yikes! This newsletter is a little long but I got carried away with the whole idea of miracles. One thing led to another and, well, I decided to just leave it all in instead of editing it to bits. So I hope you enjoy the accumulated bits—all in an effort to brighten your day.

In love and light,
Debbie

Happy Women's History Month!
A March Miracle

A recent discussion about the need for more rain in California led to a comment— "We need another March miracle!" — referring to a time years back when a deluge ended that particular period of drought. That led me to think the world could use a March miracle. All the division and in-fighting in this country isn't helping the much larger social climate and now we have a virus that is scaring the beejeebies out of many many people worldwide. Of course it needs attention, but the continual focus on anything but the solution just adds to the fear, and with so much fear there is little room for joy, optimism, and hope—all qualities needed to find that solution. Meanwhile, less travel, less touching, less group activities, less in-person interaction. So sad. It seems this crisis is separating us even more.

But, wait!
Maybe a March miracle is up to us! Not that we, necessarily, can change the virus but we can change the climate. An issue that is affecting people worldwide is a worldwide opportunity for people to pull together, to actually be more supportive of each other, and to dare to believe that this, too, can and will be resolved.

We are surrounded by brilliant people from all walks of life who can and will come up with a solution to this and other challenges. People across the planet have brilliant ideas to share to make our world a whole lot more loving. Maybe we need to listen. And when we don't, maybe we need the hell scared out of us to get us to finally take action. And that's a good thing, because I, for one, want the hell scared out of me so all those good feelings we all enjoy so much can come rushing in. =)

Imagine if we actually listened more. One idea may not seem credible on the surface, but the opportunity to hear about it might give someone else something to think about, to tweak, and adjust, and come up with… another miracle. After all, isn’t a miracle simply an unexpected solution to a problem that seemed impossible? We’ve faced a lot of impossibles in our history. Maybe, instead of getting all caught up in the fear we allow ourselves to become overwhelmed with hope and trust and knowing that we can do a whole let better… when we truly listen, speak up, and actively care more. When we change the climate around us.

95. Expect miracles.

This is about trust, a deep sense of knowing, and letting go. By expecting miracles we choose to believe that something considered impossible can become a reality. We may not know how, when, or why—and it may not matter—but we can simply direct positive energy into that possibility and let it go. It’s a happy thought! After all, decisions are being made, attitudes are shifting, and ideas are being born right now with the capability of changing what once could not be done. Anything can happen and it might be happening right now! Optimism is mind-expanding. Be open, be patient, make room.

Swoosh

In Greek Mythology, Nike was the goddess of speed, strength, and victory. She is often depicted without wings when she is shown with another god, and with wings when alone. Nike has been used as a symbol throughout history, most notably in the Olympic medal design, Greek coins, an anti-aircraft missile system, auto hood ornament, and a very popular brand of shoes that bear her name. The Nike brand's trademark swoosh was created by Carolyn Davidson in 1971.

Rotary Cell

Justine Haupt, a 34 year old engineer with a strong dislike for texting and over-complicated cell phones, came up with an alternative. Her cell phone fits in your pocket, has a couple of speed dial buttons, a small display for missed calls, and a rotary dial. It's a basic, fully functioning cell phone that only makes phone calls and it uses a rotary dial for a more tactile feel. It became so popular that she now sells them in a DIY kit, but you have to supply the rotary dial. You can read all about it here, on the Good News Network, or watch the 2:30 video above.

Release the (k)nots.

Have you gotten into a habit of saying can’t, won’t, shouldn’t, couldn’t, not good enough, not smart enough, not enough time? Release the nots! When you do, you open to a field of potential. Now believing you can, you allow creativity to flow. It has to! They say that nature abhors a vacuum. That means where there is a vacuum, a void, it must be filled. So if you remove the not you make room for something new. It’s the law – in physics. And here is a potential bonus: that habit of nots is creating tension and stress in your body. So it is very likely that when you release the nots, some other knots will go to.
