Rise #8 And Shine to God

"Incredible! All worship Saturday Night service led to a record attendance of almost 100, brining the weekend total to over 325! This is the second highest all time and just short of our Easter record. What a move of God that is going on! Keep praying. Keep fasting. Keep winning souls!"
- Rev. Drew
The Power of a Praying Aunt by Frank Castle

A tearful father and mother stood with a holy tremble to the right of their daughter. She too had steady shiver. Samantha’s was from the cold waters her parents were from God stirring their hearts.

Rev. Drew began; “The prayers of grandmothers, grandfathers, and mothers, and fathers..”

Then an interruption rang out; “And Aunts!” just behind 13 year Samantha was her aunt April. She was the first to bring the clan to RCA and is on fire for God. She smiled at the attention. Then a proud crockidile tear formed in the corner of her eye. A moment latter it streamed down her cheek. “I know Samantha, I have prayed for her for a really long time. God will use her to do really big things. I am so proud of her and love her so much!” she rejoiced.

“Being here is a blessing. Seeing my daughter take this step is a blessing. Her mother and I have come to Jesus and seeing my family here together is a blessing,” said her father. It was very moving.

Samantha is growing as a Christian. She not only received baptism but later in the week went to Idlewild with the youth group on retreat. There her faith can continue to be strengthened. Every prayer is powerful. Let us be encouraged by this family that is spreading the fire of God.

CR is back at RCA! If you got any hang ups or things holding you back, you are going to want to come. This is a safe place for healing, growing, and discipleship. “I have seen individuals set free and walk a new life because of CR!” Rev. Drew testified. “I am trilled it is back. This is a real-deal way to help those that are looking for breakthrough!” he continued. Sara Galindo, Tersa Ford, Olivia Rodrigez and Tom Buse have been praying, meeting and preparing for the relaunch of this impactful program

Hannah’s Story

By Dr. Coach Victor

1Sam 1:27-28  “For this boy I prayed and the Lord answered. I will dedicate him to the Lord. As long as he lives, he is the Lords.”

I once had a player who played for me for 6 years.  Despite his success in high school, I was not convinced as a coach that he was ready at the college level.  The small amount of time I could give him left him frustrated and ready to quit basketball.

As he went through the first 2 years of not playing for us, he made a major decision based on my recommendation; surrender his career as a college player to God to do what He wanted with it, commit to the team and finish his degree.

God had other plans for his career, including team records and being a 3 All-League selection with our team.

When he finished his 4 seasons, he graduated at the age of 26. He can only point to his decision to surrender his heart’s desire to God.

Hannah's greatest desire was to have a son (see 1 Samuel 1). After years of enduring the pain of her childlessness, this Jewish lady put her heart's desire on the altar.

If God gave her a son, she promised to raise him to give his life to serving God. At great cost, Hannah turned her greatest desire over to God.

Samuel was God's answer to her prayer. He eventually became a prophet and a judge as one of the greatest leaders of Israel.

Has your heart's desire made it onto the altar yet?

Giving your greatest desire back to God does not always result in its fulfillment. It often results in something better. It always results in God putting you where He can best use you for His glory.

If it’s hard to offer it up for you, remember it starts with acknowledging that your abilities and opportunities were His gifts to you in the first place. God Himself wants to be the greatest fulfillment and joy in your life.

Modern Babel

by C. S Anderson

The Tower of Babel had three purposes: (1) surveillance, (2) deception, and (3) social control.

As a place of surveillance, the priests could have an overview of the entire city and surrounding country. This was supplemented by a network of spies and informants who kept the priests apprised of the details of the goings-on of the population. Reports could them be prepared for tyrannical kings like Nimrod.

This great tower was also an astronomical observatory. However, celestial knowledge had both a practical, but also a more sinister purpose. Agricultural societies need astronomical data to know the proper times and seasons for planting and sowing. Exact knowledge of when lunar and solar eclipses took place, as well  as the return of comets would awe ignorant peasants into believing the priests and kings possessed other-worldly powers.

So, ultimately the Tower of Babel had social control as its chief purpose.

Today's silicon Tower of Babel is no less ominous and baleful.
