High End / Custom News

Production

  • Lux-RC announced a new driver, the 3LHV-30.  This isn't really for the flashlight market, but it could certainly see some use in multi-cell lights.  It's a light for motorcycles and snowmobiles and the like, and runs on 9V to 18V.  We don't actually care that this is not for flashlights; we're glad to see Serge in the lab and developing.  In particular, and updated 371d with the wires coming through the middle (like this one) would be awesome.
  • Another point on the Lux-RC 3LHV-30 driver; it's utilizing new emitters - Cree XD-16.  These are just hitting the market and the only other place we've seen them is in the Armktek, also mentioned in this Briefing!
  • Copper and Current, maker of the brass lantern dog walking light, is teasing an AAA 3d printed prototype light.  Looks to be a tail clicky light, and small!
  • The CoronaVirus has slowed news in the last few weeks.  That's opened doors for aid, and Sky Lumen has done just that.  Sky Lumens supports China with mask handouts, a very helpful prophylactic item.
  • But speaking of Sky Lumen, he recently released the K1vn, which is an update to the Noctigon K1 thrower.  This light has been very popular, and it looks like Vinh is squeaking out a little more throw and a little more output with his mods.
  • Armytek Wizard WR RED Magnet USB - this version of the standard Wizard, but it's a quad.... two emitters are white.  They are Cree XD16 (white) and Cree XQE (red).  They operate independently, of course, providing 1000 lumens, and 250 lumens respectively.
  • The new JETBeam HR10 is a tiny 18350 headlamp, which boasts USB-C charging!  Based on the looks of it (and knowing JETBeam), there are three tritium slots in the head, too.
  • The JETBeam DM25 isn't really the newest light but it's one we haven't reported on yet.  This is a "higher end" titanium light, in 18350 format.  It's a triple, and looks to be spec'd out with every bonus feature you can think of.  Glow gasket, check. Tritium slots all over, check.  Rotary UI, check.  Some adornment on the clip I don't even know how to describe, check.
  • JETBeam also released a LEP light, the M2S LEP.  This light is remarkable for a few reasons, not the least of which is achieving 1800m of throw out of only a 37mm head!  But that's LEP ligths, for ya.  Good to see this available.
  • Klarus G15 comes to market as a 21700 tube light with a nice large side e-switch, and a Cree XHP-70.  This allows the claim of 4000 lumens!  From a single emitter, that's quite a claim.

What's New with PhotonPhreaks

You've received this because you added your email address for "promotions, new products or sales." Here's a quick rundown of the latest happenings:

  • Introducing the Octo patch 2! The leather version was well received so we brought it back as an embroidered patch. Celebrate your love for both lights and knives! Click here to get yours.
  • Stickers! This brand was started with stickers but they have been neglected for a while. Keep an eye on the site because we'll be returning to them with a renewed focus and perhaps even a mix and match 4 pack option?
  • Another patch will be dropping this week! This is the Way.
