Dear Service Researcher,

I hope you had a good start in the new semester. With this e-mail, we send you all the news in the world of service research.

In this issue, Javier Reynoso talks about his journey to the Base of the Pyramid Research, Martin Mende introduces us to his role models, and Ellen Campos Sousa explains The Theory of Mindfulness.

Further, I'm happy to bring good news about Nick Ashill, who started a charity run across America to fight idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) (we reported about it here). After running 4000km, Nick was deliberately hit by a pickup truck in Ohio with life-threatening injuries. Nearly three years on and 15 surgeries later, he is now back running. He will start his run on 27 May 2020 from the exact spot he was hit in 2017. Read all here.

Additionally, we need our service community to find the right recipients for the SERVSIG Best Service Article Award 2019 (deadline Feb 28th). Please think about who you want to nominate for the award and mail it to the corresponding committee chair. We are looking forward to receiving your applications and nominations!

Finally, I have sad news. On Saturday, February 22nd, Pierre Eiglier passed away unexpectedly. He will be missed. Read more here.

I hope you enjoy this issue!

All the best from Boston
