Cornell Fencing
Dear Parents, Friends and Alumni,

Hello from San Salvador! As our athletes have a well-deserved vacation weekend, I am at the Junior Pan American Games serving as a coach. It is a really exciting opportunity for me and some great exposure for Cornell Fencing.

All-Ivy Stars
Both the men and women have had a busy few weeks leading into the vacation weekend. The men had competitions at Johns Hopkins and TCNJ. The women had two grueling days at Northwestern followed by a fabulous weekend at Ivies. In addition to a great team performance, 3 women finished All-Ivy: Megan Eno, Ying Cao and Gabrielle Hill. One of the captains, Marigot Fackenthal, said the following about Ivies:

“Ivies was a triumph for Cornell Fencing. I think this is really where we made our debut as a team to be reckoned with - we put up a close fight against every other Ivy, which did not go unnoticed by the observing fencing community. In particular, I'm very proud of our epee squad, which posted an incredible record all season despite an overall lack of experience. I'm also very proud of freshman Amit Hanadari-Levy of the saber squad, who stepped in and fenced like a beast after the upperclassmen succumbed to injuries.”

NCAA Regional Qualifiers at Cornell on March 8
We have qualified 12 athletes to fence at the NCAA Regionals which will be hosted at Cornell on March 8th at Barton Hall. Please come cheer on the Big Red at this incredible event. We will be hosting a cocktail party at Coach Jennings' home Saturday evening, March 7th. We would love to see you there! Please email her at sj766@Cornell.edu to RSVP.

Giving Day is March 12th
We have a goal of 194 individual donors this year. If we achieve our goal, we become eligible for additional incentive money provided by Cornell Athletics. I know it’s a big number, but to show my confidence, I have pledged a personal gift of $5,000 to the team which will be unlocked as soon as we hit our target.

Sign up for the Spring Banquet
Our Spring Banquet weekend, April 24-26, will be here before you know it. It's a great time to connect with old friends and watch our alumni valiantly try to stay on the piste with the team. This will be my first Banquet and I am really looking forward to it!  Get more information and the registration link here.

Hope to see you all soon!

All the best,
Ariana Klinkov
