It's Paczki Day!!
Now what is the big deal with this day? Well it is a celebration of the beginning of the Lent season in the Catholic Tradition for one thing. Paczki is a polish word that literally means to swell or burst. I suppose that it because it's swelled up with yummy fillings of strawberry or raspberry or lemon.......sounds great. In the old days the paczki was made up the day before the begin of lent to use up all of the lard, sugar and other items that were to be given up during the lent season.
In our Life OS Program we are all committed to using this day to prepare for a sadhana or practice where we will give up something 2 days a week. It's simple. What can you give up for 2 days each week through this lent season. Whether you are catholic, jewish, hindu or atheist you can find something to give up that will make you healthier this season as we move towards the spring and summer. Yes! It is coming!!!
Or perhaps you might choose to not give up anything but add something....like perhaps be dedicated to practicing yoga twice a week? Or perhaps you will commit to having a glass of water the first thing every day? You get the idea.
Enjoy this slow entry towards spring. This light is coming. The warmth will be here soon!
Stay with us!!
