Celebrate Leap Year by Volunteering!

Are You Our 2020 Bash Planning Lead?
The PTA is looking for a new Bash Planning Lead for the Fall 2020 event. It is really important to the have this person determined as soon as possible. Remember that the PTA fully funds Artful Learning, with most of the annual expense raised on this night. This person would lead the committee (several of whom are returning) in the planning and execution of the Fall Bash. Includes some advance planning to occur this Spring, with more intensive focus in September, October and November. Leaving this position vacant into the summer will limit the PTA's ability to host a successful Bernstein Bash raising the necessary funds towards Artful Learning. Time commitment is probably 3 hours monthly during the school year, including attending the meetings.

Take Your Pick Of PTA Board Positions
It is the time of year when our Jackson PTA board starts looking for new folks to serve during the upcoming school year. Please read the general descriptions below, if you or someone you know is a good fit, please contact Michelle at: VicePresident@JacksonPTA.org

  • President - This person leads board and general meetings, works with the Principal to set fundraising objectives, and coordinates general agenda. Time commitment is probably 5 hours per month plus the monthly meetings. Increased time commitment during months of three largest fundraisers and back to school timeframe.
  • Vice President - This position will support the President by leading meetings when needed and preparing general meeting agendas. VP also handles weekly messaging communications. Time commitment is probably maximum 5 hours per month during the school year, plus attendance at the monthly meetings.
  • Treasurer - This manages all financial records and check writing for the PTA, including monthly bank account reconciliation, tax form preparation and reporting to the board and membership. While some accounting background is helpful, it isn't mandatory for someone good with finances. Our PTA utilizes a very user-friendly software designed for non-profits. This is the most important position to fill immediately - allowing the new Treasurer to shadow our current officer before the end of the fiscal year. Leaving this position vacant into the summer will limit the PTA's ability to fund any obligations at the beginning of the school year. Should be able to attend most monthly PTA meetings. Time commitment is probably 3-4 hours monthly during the school year, plus attending the meetings.
