Central West Gippsland Primary Care Partnership (CWGPCP) News: 

Free Health Literacy Training: Clear Communication - 31 March 2020 
Learn how you can make it easier for your clients to understand your advice by using clear written and verbal communication techniques.

Facilitated by the CWGPCP, this free training will be held on Tuesday 31 March in Morwell. The workshop is aimed at health professionals, front office staff and anyone who who communicates with clients in a health setting. This includes people who are responsible for developing written information for clients (including websites).

Free Grant Writing Training - 14 April 2020 
There are many grants available to non-profit organisations - this free half-day training on Tuesday 14 April in Morwell will cover:
  • Understanding the mindset of the grant maker
  • Conquering the grant writing jargon
  • Devising a grant application planning matrix and calendar
  • Finding the right grant opportunities
  • 'Selling' your organisation and the program
  • Defining your program and its benefits
  • Defining stakeholders and partners
  • Writing responses to applications
  • Calculating the cost ($ and people) of the plan and preparing a budget
  • Considering sustainability of the program after the funding finishes.

System Integration Video Interview Series
CWGPCP is developing a new audio-visual interview series to provide cross-sector capacity building opportunities to improve engagement between service delivery staff working in the health and human services sectors.

  • Guidelines for health services and general practitioners regarding Novel coronavirus has been published at https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/information-health-services-novel-coronavirus.
  • Gippsland Women’s Health and Equality Australia are asking organisations to join them as they voice their concerns to the Religious Discrimination Bill through advocating to MP’s.
  • Wellways, together with Mind, Neami and SANE, have developed a Response to the draft Productivity Commission report into mental health.
  • LaTrobe University and Gippsland PHN are seeking to understand how members of the Latrobe Valley community are connected and receive information about breast and bowel cancer screening. They’re hoping to speak with those who provide direct advice to the community; as well as Latrobe Valley community members aged 50-74.   • Register for the 'Latrobe City Grant Finder', which provides a comprehensive list of grant and funding opportunities available.
  • Gippsland Women's Health are facilitating Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Collaborative Practice Training to professionals across Gippsland - click here to see the range of courses offered throughout 2020. To assist individuals and agencies assess appropriate training requirements, Gippsland Women's Health have also developed a simple Training Guide.
  • The TRAK Forward program is for parents/carers, infants, children and young people who have been impacted by Family Violence and are ready to move forward with their lives. TRAK Forward services are located in the Inner Gippsland area.
