The March "Drawing" Exhibit
“The Power of a Line,”

Opening Reception, March 6th from 5:00 to 8:00pm
Call for Entries for the next upcoming drawing exhibit, “The Power of a Line,” from March 6th to March 27th. This can include any acceptable subject, drawn by anything that will make a line, shape or color, which can include pencil, charcoal, pastels, conté sticks, crayons, pen & ink, markers etc. Delivery dates February 21st through February 29th.
This will not be a juried show, but is an opportunity to show your work. Entry fee is $8.00 each, limit two pieces Specifics for each month’s exhibit is listed on the MFA website: www.meadvilleart.com/exhibits. This page was updated Monday 2/24/20. Basic Rules
• Image content Remember this is a retail space for all ages. Nudes, profanity, violent or politically controversial works will not be accepted. Meadville Fine Arts reserves the right to reject any works it deems inappropriate for our audience, contrary to our business values or unsuitable for the exhibit, be it content or quality of craftsmanship.
• Copyrights All entries must be original works by the entrant and comply with all copyright laws.
• Maximum Size must not exceed 37” in height, width or depth (outside frame dimensions.)
• Ready to Hang All 2D pieces must have finished edges or framed and wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers, “D” or triangle rings will not be accepted as a hanging device.
• Sale Prices All pieces must be for sale. It is up to the artist to set the retail price. Keep in mind, MFA retains 25%, and the artist will receive 75% of any sale, unless otherwise noted. Payments will be mailed the first week of the following month.
• Labels Pieces must be labeled with the artist’s name, phone number &/or email, and the title of the work. No pieces called “Untitled” will be accepted. Creating titles is part of the craft.
• Shipping - If a piece must be shipped at the end of the show you will need to provide a shipping box and a check to cover the return postage.
• Prizes will be announced prior to each show.
• Entry fees Entry fees are $8.00 per piece with a two piece limit per show unless otherwise noted .
• Declined Pieces Any pieces not accepted for exhibit must be picked up prior to the show opening. We will contact you via email or phone if your piece is declined
• After Show Pick Up
Pickup is the week following the close of each show. Unless other arrangements are made, any items left after 30 days will become the property of Meadville Fine Arts to do with as we deem necessary, ie: gift, sale or disposal.

Up Dated List of Shows for 2020 We have printouts of this schedule in the shop. (I'd attach a link to a PDF but I don't know how. Shoot me an email and I'll email the PDF back to you.)
Each month we will be hosting an exhibit that is open to the public. Some will be juried, but not all. Due to our gallery space the entries will be limited in dimensions and number of entries. The openings for each show will be held on the 1st Friday of each month unless otherwise noted.

Specifics: Anything that will make a line, shape, color, all types of pencils, charcoal, pastels, conté and crayons, pen & ink, all types of markers and pens.

Opening 3/6 Friday 5pm - 8 pm.

Subject 5x7 Format - Any acceptable subject, any lightweight media.
Specifics Each image will be for sale for $20.00 and the full sale price will be donated to the Pregnancy Center of Meadville.
All images must be 5" x 7", unframed and on a thin rigid backing. Four piece limit. Entry fee $4.00 per piece.
No hangers or wires are to be attached for hanging. They will be taped to the wall for display so they must be lightweight.
Delivery dates 3/20 - 3/31.
Opening 4/3 Friday 5pm - 8 pm.

Subject Images From Your Sketch Book - leave in your sketchbook. Your art will be scanned when you enter and your sketch book will be returned to you before you leave. A digital file of your piece will be available at the end of the show if you bring in a storage device to download it to. (ie: SB memory stick or SD card.)
Specifics: Juried show. Prizes will be an enlargement of your piece ready to frame.
