MAKE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE A PRIORITY

• Talk about the importance of showing up to school everyday, make that the expectation.
• Help your child maintain daily routines, such as finishing homework and getting a good night’s sleep.
• Try not to schedule dental and medical appointments during the school day.
• Don’t let your child stay home unless truly sick. Complaints of headaches or stomach aches may be signs of anxiety.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL ANNOUNCED

The first day of school for the 2020-21 School Year is August 10, 2020. Yes, you read that right! OUSD will release the full school year calendar as soon as it is finalized and approved by the Board.

CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY

It’s that time of year again when we ask all of our families to give input on how well our school is serving your children through the California Health Kids Survey! This important tool gives schools throughout California data about how our kids and families are experiencing school. This data is tied to important funding sources as well. Please take a few moments to complete this by clicking on the Claremont parent survey.

OEA SURVEY

OEA is conducting community outreach to families, educators, and young people to tell school board candidates what the community wants. If you want to fill out the survey, click here.

From the PTA

THE CLAREMONT PTA NEEDS YOU!

Looking to get more involved with Claremont? Want to support the activities of the PTA? Due to families graduating or terms coming to an end, there are many key positions open for the 2020-2021 Executive Board. We are looking for...

• President - runs board and general meetings, prepares agendas, works closely with the principal to support the school.

Vice President - attends board and general meetings, runs meetings when President absent.

• Treasurer - oversees the management of PTA finances and acts as fiscal sponsor for Ride for A Reason.

• VP of Events -helps find leads for events like Rockridge Out & About, Pi / STEAM Night and more. This role can be shared by two people and attending the events is not necessary.

All positions provide great opportunities to get to know other parents at Claremont, help build our Claremont community and build your resume while you are at it (leadership skills!). Please contact Amy GoldenMiho KubotaEleanor Katari or Kira Don to learn more!
