THE LEAGUE WANTS EVERYONE'S VOTE TO COUNT By Ken Thomas, LWVPBC President
Your PBC League encourages everyone to consider Voting by Mail (VBM). Even as supporters of VBM, we have some concerns. First, YOU must track your ballot to ensure it was accepted. Second, if there is a problem with your signature/ballot, election officials must be able to reach you to cure the issue(s). If you do not have or know someone who has internet access, you cannot track your ballot to ensure it was accepted. Also, if you are not willing to include the optional contact information on the VBM envelope, election officials may not be able to reach you in time should your ballot need to be cured. If the above 2 situations apply to you then we suggest you cast your vote in-person during the early voting period or on Election Day. Otherwise, enjoy the convenience of Voting By Mail.
A NOTE FROM OUR SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS
According to SOE Wendy Sartory Link, "VBM pickups with the affidavits are available now as well. For those who are not vulnerable, early voting is a very good option as well right now. Turnout has been light, there are usually no lines at all, and the process is very fast. WE have hand sanitizers at each location, and are wiping down the surfaces regularly. The voter can usually be in and out in 5-10 minutes. Please suggest they check our web sight for wait times to confirm before going."
