Help us to harmonise social mobility!

The GSS Harmonisation team are currently looking into the topic of social mobility. They are keen to hear from you if you are doing (or have done) any work around social mobility. Please e-mail Harmonisation@Statistics.gov.uk

Longitudinally linked administrative data

The Office for National Statistics is completing research which aims to transform population and migration statistics system based on integrated administrative data by 2023. From an extensive review of the literature they realised that existing error frameworks did not support the use of longitudinally-linked administrative data sets. They therefore developed a quality framework to assess statistical error in administrative data sources to fill this gap and applied it to longitudinally linked Home Office Exit Checks data. This deepened their understanding of this data source and the findings will inform statistical design decisions and future linkage of multiple administrative data sources.

Launch of the Analysis Function’s Diversity and Inclusion Survey

The National Statistician and head of Analysis Function Sir Ian Diamond launched the third Diversity and Inclusion Survey for the Analysis Function. The diversity we have across the analytical community is a great strength. To mark the Civil Service Year of Inclusion, the function will be focusing on inclusivity to enable everyone to have a sense of belonging. Taking part in the survey is a brilliant opportunity to have your voice heard and help improve our function.

Please complete and share the Analysis Function 2020 Diversity and Inclusion Survey.
