Hello <<First Name>>,

A very big congratulations on your acceptance to Concord Academy! We are Haley and Charmaine, class leaders for the Class of 2020, and we are delighted to welcome you! Having spent our last four years enriched by the CA community, we are thrilled to share our experiences with you as you think about embarking on your own journey. Like you, we couldn’t wait to find and explore our passions at CA.

The Class of 2020 has been truly interested in everything, from cooking to biology to anime. During our time here, we’ve spoken to all kinds of people (including world-renowned chef Anita Lo) on campus, started science clubs, and performed yo-yo tricks at CA’s annual talent show, “Winterfest”.

The clubs and organizations at Concord Academy serve as one of the best reflections of our passionate, engaged, and diverse community. They are run by students, often in conjunction with a faculty member. There are over 70 clubs to choose from and you’ll get to explore and learn about them all at an event in the early fall called Club Expo. Club Expo is high energy and full of students excited to say “hello,” share a bit about CA, and welcome fresh faces. You’ll see everything from ceramics to biology, affinity to acapella groups, Big Data Club to Women’s Org, Hip Hop & Soul to Outdoors Club, and German club to Star Wars club. These clubs offer a space and time to socialize, bond over hobbies and interests, have intellectual and stimulating discussions, and much more. There is a wide variety of options to choose from and room to form your own new club.

The Class of 2020 is also incredibly athletic and could not wait to wear CA green. Concord Academy is part of the Eastern Independent League, so our 30 interscholastic teams compete with other private schools in New England. There are three levels of athletics at CA for our team sports — varsity, junior varsity, and intramural. If you don’t make varsity the first year, don’t worry! It’s possible to advance a level up after playing junior varsity or intramural for a season — the coaches are very talented and committed to your success as an athlete. It’s also easy to try a new sport. Being a spectator is also a really great way to participate in CA athletics. Every fall, we hold the Chandler Bowl against our sports rival, the Pingree School, to raise money for charity. It’s a great way to finish up our season with nine fall sports teams competing for the silver bowl trophy. We’re undefeated four-year champs!

If organized sports aren’t your thing, there are also lots of fun PE classes on campus, like “Hiking Concord” where you get to walk around in the beautiful woods of Concord, or yoga, where you can stretch and meditate with a trained yogi on campus.

The experience here is like no other. CA’s central principle is that we are a community animated by a love of learning. With the wide variety of electives, clubs, and sports offered, you can’t go wrong with any of your choices here. CA offers many opportunities to explore any and everything that interests you.

We'd love to have you join our community and hope your decision process goes smoothly!

Warm Regards,
