What's new this year!
For our 10th year, to encourage foot traffic along the whole street, we will be working to use RVBIA member sponsorship to host Buskers/Street Performers at designated areas along Roncy, as close to the RVBIA member storefront as the sidewalk allows. The number of performers and the length of time they perform will largely depend on the number of sponsors we can find to support these spots.
The Kids Zone will be in a curb-lane closure this year. To expand the play and activity space and set back away from traffic and support more activities for kids, it will be located adjacent to St Vincent de Paul, at Westminster and Roncesvalles and will also host the Family stage!
Greener Roncy: We are also working to support vendors and festival goers to improve on Reducing garbage accepting Reusables and Recycling at the festival. Festival goers will again be encouraged to BYO refillable bottles (for the H20toGo water trailer) and this year with the addition of BYO containers and reusables at zones where there is food and beverage. An anchor for the Greener Roncy initiative at Roncy Rocks 2020, the Beer Garden will return, with an ECO-orientation.
We are also working on bringing back window decals for all Roncy Rocks 2020 sponsors. Information will be supplied to our sponsors.

Busker Hot Spots at Roncy Rocks 2020
Last year, a pilot Busker Hot Spot was established at the north end of Roncesvalles co-sponsored by 3 nearby businesses; Avalon Dentistry, Evolve Complete Chiropractic and Moretti Hair. We got great feedback from festival goers about the pilot. So we are working to create more of Busker Hot Spots this year.
If you've been a Roncy Rocks "copper" or "bronze" sponsor in the past, this is a great option for you!
What you get: Busker scheduled to perform for a minimum of 2 hours at a marked Hot Spot with a Roncy Rocks sidewalk decal at the designated spot. Includes recognition on festival poster and indicator on map with your business name (to see what your recognition on the map will look like, to the left is last years' map. #1 is the HotSpot listing).
Hours: vary (between 12pm-5pm)
Cost: Partner-Sponsorship (2 businesses) starts at $300 each. Another hour for each additional $300 supporter. (For example, 3 sponsors would equal 3 hours of busking).
Single Sponsorship (2 hours): $600
Partner-sponsorship is a great option if you know neighbouring businesses you can work with (like in our pilot). If you're not able to drum up any interest on your own, contact us and we will do our best to pair you up with fellow RVBIA sponsors as close to your business as possible.
We are pleased to welcome Mikita Arlou, our Humber Intern, who will be coordinating talent and businesses to participate in this program.
Mikita will be visiting businesses in the coming weeks; to schedule a short meeting or phone call with him, or for more info please email him
Sponsorship DEADLINE: March 30th

Greener Roncy at Roncy Rocks 2020
This year we are increasing our efforts to reduce waste at the festival. We are working to make our Beer Garden an Eco friendly zone, with re-usables, BYO and waste management. This is made possible in no small part by the partnership of our vendor and sponsorship of this zone. Similar waste reducing efforts are in the works for all Roncy Rocks zones.
Roncy Reduces will be helping to facilitate these programs and efforts by providing some volunteer power. If you are one of the many businesses who accepts BYO, this is a great opportunity to tie in sale of your eco friendly products and/or promote your participation in Roncy Reduces. If you are not part of the Roncy Reduces initiatives yet, you can connect with email roncy.reduces@gmail.com to find out more.
We have applied for the H2OtoGo water trailer to return to the festival for a second year and will be encouraging festival goers to BYO. We will also be requiring all food/beverage vendors at the festival to accept re-usables, BYOs where applicable and limit (if not eliminate) plastic from the items available for sale at the festival.

RVBIA Members Sidewalk Sale
As part of our Roncy Rocks permits, we've paid for a street wide sidewalk sale again this year!
RVBIA members can participate in the Roncy Rocks sidewalk sale (during the hours of the festival, Saturday, June 13th), at no additional cost.
Here's how you can take advantage of the additional foot traffic!
- set up your display from 10am - 8pm
- you can occupy the entire width of your storefront
- your display must leave 7 feet of uninterrupted sidewalk for pedestrian traffic
- if you're a retail store who does not sell food, selling hotdogs (for ex) would require you to obtain an additional permit
If you're doing something special (this could be anything from art exhibit, a class or sale and so on) on the day of the festival, be sure to submit that info via our contact form here to us by April 15th so we can add it to our virtual map!
