Haben Sie schon vom „Monheim-Prinzip“ gehört? So nennen wir intern den Kerngedanken der Monheim Triennale. Das Prinzip ist, dass die 16 Künstlerinnen und Künstler in selbst gewählten Konstellationen miteinander auftreten. Das kann in geplanten, wie am Beispiel von Sam Amidon, der ein Projekt mit Stian Westerhus, Kris Davis, Robert Landfermann und Greg Fox kreiert, aber auch in völlig spontanen Performances in Monheim am Rhein geschehen. Dabei sind die 16 jedoch nicht allein: Shabaka Hutchings zum Beispiel erfüllt sich einen Lebenstraum, indem er mit einer Kombination aus seiner drei Bands auftritt und noch ein Kammerorchester hinzufügt, Sofia Jernberg reist mit den besten der skandinavischen Improvisationsszene an und wird vor Ort von einem Monheimer Kinderchors begleitet. Wie, wo und wann ist ab Montag hier zu finden. Was für Musikgruppen in den fünf Festival-tagen erst entstehen, dafür gibt es keine Schedule und kann nur miterlebt werden: Noch bis Montag gibt es unsere Early-Bee-Tickets zum Vorverkaufspreis!

Have you heard of the 'Monheim Principle'? That's what we call the core idea behind the Monheim Triennale: the principle of 16 individually selected artists creating joint performances in various constellations. These have either been specifically planned for this festival, as is the case with Sam Amidon's project with Stian Westerhus, Kris Davis, Robert Landfermann and Greg Fox, but other constellations occur spontaneously at Monheim am Rhein. However, the 16 selected artists won't be on their own: Shabaka Hutchings, for example, fulfils a lifelong dream by performing with a combination of his three bands, plus adding a chamber orchestra; Sofia Jernberg will perform together with some of the best the Scandinavian improv scene has to offer and will be accompanied by a Monheim children's choir. All the exact dates, times and venues will be published here on Monday.
