Romance Gets the Georgia Tech Treatment with Machine Learning Algorithm

Thanks to our student club The Agency, Georgia Tech students didn't have to worry about swiping right this Valentine's Day. The group designed an algorithm that matched 800 couples on campus.

Accenture Brought Their Tech Symposium to the Machine Learning Center at Georgia Tech

Last month, we were thrilled to welcome Accenture and many of their clients to ML@GT during their Tech Symposium. Several of our faculty members shared their research and attendees were treated to a tour of our new offices in Coda.

GT Computing Student Plans to Study Connections Between Law and Machine Learning as a J.P. Morgan Ph.D. Fellow 

Congratulations to Ashwin Vijayakumar on being named a 2020 JP Morgan Ph.D. Fellow. Vijayakumar plans to pivot and explore the relationship between machine learning and law.

Mark Borodovsky Elected as ISCB Fellow

Congratulations to Regents' Professor and ML@GT faculty member Mark Borodovsky on being elected as a fellow of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB.) He is one of 12 fellows selected for the 2020 class. Well deserved, Mark!

New Professor Brings Creativity to Systems Work

As an assistant professor for ML@GT and the School of Computer Science, Alexey Tumanov draws from his personal experience to bring freedom and opportunities through education to his students.
ML@GT Ph.D. students Steven Hickson and Andrew Silva visited the Acton Academy Buckhead to teach students about robotics & machine learning. They also brought a Cozmo robot, demoed deep learning methods, and chatted about life as a grad student. 
For the second year in a row, Georgia Tech students have won the Jump into STEM competition at the DOE/Oak Ridge National Lab. Congratulations to Kira, Taylor, Catherine, Katie, and Steven, who will all be offered DOE internships at one of the national labs.
