Coronovirus impacts many upcoming events


The School District is requiring cancellation of all non-athletics large-group events scheduled through Spring Break. The PTSA will still hold its monthly Board meeting on Monday March 9 from 6pm to 7:30pm. This will be conducted via phone and/or online meeting software, specifics to be finalized by Monday afternoon.

Washington family directory


A printed copy of family contact information was recently sent home with your student. This directory is created by the PTSA and does not include information for families who opted out.

It’s not too late to become a member this year. Annual dues are $20 per 2-adult WMS household, $12 per adult or free to those who request it.

Spring sports


Seasons are kicking off for track, boys soccer, and girls volleyball. Boys Soccer

Tryouts will be Tuesday and Thursday March 10 and Thursday March 12 from 4:00 to 5:30 at Judkins Park (just south of WMS). Students should meet in the gym after school and everyone will walk down to the field together. Students should wear appropriate soccer gear.

A grade 6 parent volunteer is sought to help with the JV team.  Ultimate Frisbee

This activity is part of HOST after-school programs.

Registration still open for after school programs


You can register your student for after-school activities up until March 13. Huskies Out of School Time (HOST) spring programs began this week and run through May 21st. They include STEM, music, athletics, cooking, and more. Most programs are free or offer financial assistance, supported in part by the PTSA.

Volunteers needed to celebrate students and staff


Help make upcoming community events a success.
  • Staff Appreciation Week is May 4 through May 8.
  • 8th Grade Promotion is Wednesday June 17th from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Commitment time is flexible!

Help choose the best candidates to serve as PTSA officers during the 2020/21 school year.

University of Washington Math Hour lecture series


Lectures are aimed at students in grades 6-10, along with parents, teachers, or older siblings/friends.
  • Sunday, April 26: Kristin DeVleming
  • Sunday, May 17: Mark Saul
Lectures are free to everyone. No registration is required. All talks take place on the main UW campus in Savery Hall room 260.
