Weston Head ShotsCreate Animated GIFs in PowerPoint

The animated GIF is one of the Internet’s oldest technologies, and it’s getting a resurgence with memes on various social media sites and collection/search sites like GIPHY and Gfycat (with GIPHY being used for the GIF search in Microsoft Teams). While there are online tools you can use to create your own animated GIFs, you can now use a tool you’re familiar with: PowerPoint (via Office 365) can now export to GIF. It’s basic functionality, but it’s there, and here's how to do it.

Computer on FireIs Your Computer On Its Last Legs?

We are firm believers that a properly-configured computer with a factory warranty should last you at minimum three years, usually longer (which is why most of the computers we sell come with at least a four-year warranty). But sometimes a computer is on the verge of death. How can you tell when your computer needs to be replaced?

Tech Tip: Windows Key Shortcuts

Windows KeyWe think keyboard shortcuts are great. Anything to keep you from having to take your hands off your keyboard keeps you more productive. We’ve covered Outlook keyboard shortcuts, Word keyboard shortcuts, handy run commands, and foreign language characters, but one thing we haven’t really hit on (at least that we could find – we have written a lot of newsletter content) is the usefulness of the Windows Key.

Is That Port USB-C or Thunderbolt?

We’ve covered this before, but it bears repeating (since we’ve had a few folks ask about it recently): USB-C is just a new USB port type, but it’s capable of doing Thunderbolt over that same connection. So how do you know what the port is capable of? Check the labels near the port, which should tell you what it’s capable of.
