Darlington volunteer platypus survey
Thursday 26th March
6:30pm at Nugget Flat

In 2018, over 20 people joined in a volunteer survey along a 5km stretch of Mount Emu Creek.  This survey recorded 3 confirmed platypus sightings, 2 possible sightings, one rakali (native water rat) and several tortoises.
We encourage everyone to come along to our 2020 survey, no prior platypus knowledge required!  Wear boots, bring binoculars and come ready to sit quietly for an hour or so by a waterhole to enjoy the evening and watch for who’s living in our waterways.  Light supper to follow at Darlington Hall.
For further information or to RSVP please contact Shari from Lismore Landcare on 0409 070 089. This event may be cancelled if the weather does not cooperate.
This event is supported by the Corangamite Shire’s Environmental Fund

Geelong Nature Forum

The Geelong Field Naturalists Club is inviting you to attend the upcoming Geelong Nature Forum 'Where the Rivers Run'.  This is an opportunity to engage with local biodiversity experts in the Geelong Region with a focus on raising awareness and knowledge of nature within the Geelong community.

This free event will be held Saturday 28 March,  at the National Wool Museum, from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
The one-day drop-in event provides an opportunity to speak informally with experts from 30 environmental organisations at their respective display stands as well as listen to talks or attend workshops.
for a full list of workshops and speakers visit this link

The exhibition displays will remain in the National Wool Museum for the full first week of the school holidays. However, only the Saturday event with its speaker program and workshops is free to the public. On the other days normal National Wool Museum entry prices will apply. Entry to the museum will also allow visitors to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition from the London Natural History Museum. There will also be life-size sculpture models of Threatened Bird Species of our region on display.
