We write to share some exciting developments concerning our vision and activities in relation to the Sophia Network.

The Sophia Network exists to empower and equip women in leadership, and to champion the full equality of women and men in the church. Over the last few years we have developed a strong relational link with Sophia, which holds equality and leadership as its main distinctive.

For some time now the Board of Sophia has been sensing transition. As that relationship has grown, both networks have seen what is happening as a God partnership, and an opportunity to collaborate more.

Sophia has faced challenges in maintaining its work since the publication of its Minding the Gap research, and so we feel that formalising our partnership would be a positive way of ensuring our legacy.
As a result, The Sophia Board have agreed to merge our two organisations, forming a joint board which will continue to work in the area of women’s leadership and equality, under the name Kyria.

Two key activities will take place to assist this:

1) forming a joint board which will continue to work in the area of women’s leadership and equality, under the name Kyria Network.
2) transitioning the charity to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), a new legal form for a charity, which has already been ratified by present Trustees.

This is an exciting decision as it enables the aims and objectives of Sophia to continue to grow and thrive, but as part of the Kyria Network. We look forward to the fresh resourcing and empowerment this decision will bring for women leaders via research, blogs, vlogs, conferences and retreats.

We are asking you as followers and supporters of Kyria, to support this decision in prayer and action.

To implement these changes, in accordance with Sophia’s constitution, Sophia needs to hold an Annual General Meeting of members. This AGM will take place at Winchester Baptist Church at 11am on 16th March. If you are a member of Sophia Network, please let their secretary know if you intend to come - email Martin martin@hardwidge.com. If you’re not a member of the Sophia Network you will not be required to attend.

Anyone who is a member of the Sophia Network who wishes to submit any comments can do so by writing to Amanda Jackson who is a current member of Sophia Board and now become New Chair for Kyria Network. Please submit any comments by 9th March to amandaraej2015@gmail.com.

Kyria writes…. “We have loved and cheered on the work of Sophia for sometime now. Over more recent years it’s been wonderful to collaborate. We look forward to continuing the charitable aims and objectives of Sophia and hope you will join us as we continue to resource this vital area of Kingdom Leadership. We honour and appreciate all who have been involved in the work of Sophia and look forward to all that is ahead for us as two significant organisations join forces to become even more effective.”

KYRIA is a network for women leaders to challenge, empower and release.'The name KYRIA comes from 2 John 1:1 where John refers to the 'chosen lady' who leads that church. That word is KYRIA. God is still releasing His chosen female leaders into every sphere of society and the KYRIA network has been birthed for such a time as this. Our aim is to provide an empowering environment to release women to lead in their spheres of influence
