Women's History Month
Since 1982, March has been dedicated to observing and honoring women's contributions to our shared American history. To celebrate, Regis is hosting events that celebrate and discuss issues relevant to our female community.

Women and Leadership Conference: Women's Careers
9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 14
Claver Hall, Room 315
This conference will focus on the shape of women's careers — which are usually different than the traditional assumption of a linear upper movement. Three women at different stages of their careers will share insights, challenges and opportunities that they have experienced in their careers.

The critically acclaimed author of "Sabrina & Corina" — this year's "One Book, One Regis" selection — will visit campus for two separate events on March 26. Join us to celebrate Latina and indigenous women in the American West while exploring issues of social justice that affect us all.

Shirley Romero Otero will speak on her life of activism, focusing on her leadership in the San Luis Land Rights Movement.

Beth Kramer Memorial Lecture: “American Exceptionalism as White Exceptionalism”

This lecture, given by Linda Martín Alcoff, Ph.D., Professor of Philosophy at CUNY Graduate Center, will explore the concept of "American Exceptionalism" and tie it to important public conflicts today that bear on racial group differences.
Northwest Area Community Network Project Planning Meeting

Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wants to understand how people in your community travel. Share your experiences traveling by bike, by bus, by car and on foot in Northwest Denver and provide input that will guide transportation improvements where you live.
Taizé Weekend
9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Regis Chapel
Join the Taizé community for an experience of a unique Christian tradition that developed in France and focuses on prayer and reconciliation. This time will feature large group gatherings and small groups discussions about building community and reconciliation in our fragmented world.

Pomponio Family Science Center
Explore more than 24 hands-on science demonstrations and activities run by Regis University students. Visitors of all ages are welcome — they'll learn about everything from astronomy and brain science to physics and biology. Kids can earn a goodie bag for exploring the fun activities.

Regis University Northwest Denver Campus will transform from classrooms to centers for laboratory draws, health assessments and wellness education. Services include standard blood pressure screenings and heart, skin, foot and vision screenings; stress management; bone density testing; and non-fasting blood draws.

Discover Denver
What makes the Regis neighborhood special? Discover Denver, a project focused on identifying historic and architecturally significant buildings citywide, wants your help in answering this question!
Discover Denver begins work in the Regis neighborhood this month. The project is gathering information about all Denver buildings using public records, neighborhood canvassing, academic research and tips from the public. Findings from the survey will be accessible online so that everyone can learn about Denver’s past — building by building.
In May, a “Discovery Day” open house event will be held where the public will be invited to stop by to learn about the Discover Denver project, and share their knowledge about the history of the Regis neighborhood. Details about the event will be published once a date and location are finalized.
