This month’s WETT FireWire Quiz is based on the five most incorrectly answered questions from previous quizzes.

You will need the SITE™ Levels of Inspection chart, your WETT Reference Manual, CSA B365-17 Installation code for solid-fuel-burning appliances and equipment and the article “What is a WETT Inspection?

To qualify for the contest, please provide your contact information and submit your quiz answers. 

Once you have finished the quiz, navigate to the WETT Forum to discuss the quiz.

Reminder: Call for Board Nominations



Key Dates

March 31, 2020: Nomination Deadline
April 6, 2020: Voting Opens (make sure you have renewed for 2020)
May 11, 2020:  Ballot Submission Deadline
June 12, 2020: Annual General Meeting

Nominations for candidates for the 2020-2022 WETT Board are now welcome. The Board is composed of a minimum of eight (8) and not more than twelve (12) directors, consisting of at least two each of WETT-certified advisors, inspectors, technicians and sweeps, with no more than five from any one category. The term is for two years.

A slate of nominees will be sent electronically on April 6, 2020 for voting. The new Board will be confirmed at the Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 12, 2020. This year we have openings for four (4) directors.

  • Nominations are open for all certification categories.
  • Elections will be done electronically.
  • For those members who do not have an email on file with the office, ballots will be mailed.

Nomination Instructions
Your input is invited. If you would like to recommend a candidate to stand for election, please submit a nomination.

The procedure is:

  • Complete and send in a nomination using the nomination form.
  • Have the nominee compose a letter accepting the nomination. His/her letter of acceptance must accompany your nomination form
  • Have the nominee compose and submit a bio to include: general introduction and interests, experience in the industry, why she or he feels she or he should be on the Board. His/her bio must accompany your nomination form.
  • Nominations may be sent by mail, fax or email.
  • Only nominations received using the nomination form will be accepted.
  • Only WETT-certified members may submit nominations.

If you do not receive a confirmation of receipt of your nomination by March 31, 2020 at 5 p.m. ET, you may assume it was not received and, therefore, will not be on the ballot/slate.

2020 Annual General Meeting

This year, WETT's Annual General Meeting will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Date: Friday, June 12, 2020
Time: 4-6 p.m.
Location: The Barrington Hotel, 1875 Barrington Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Activity highlight reports for 2019 will be presented by our provincial affiliates. We encourage you to attend, get informed and ask questions. Come and meet your Board of Directors.
