FEATURED ARTISTS
TAMA CAPELLINI - WEARABLE  FELT ART
Tama Capellini of Flying Heart Felt is a fiber artist working with the ancient process of felt making in modern and innovative ways. Tama creates whimsical, bold and colorful wearable art with wool, handspun art yarn and recycled fabrics. She endeavors to create joy in the making and also the wearing of her spirited creations.

SHERRION TAYLOR - ECOBAGS
Sherrion is passionate about repurposing leftover textiles. She prewashes and dries all fabrics so her clients need not worry about shrinkage.  Also, the slogans  on her bags hit home - KISS PLASTIC BAGS GOODBYE & REAL MEN RECYCLE! Sherrion is partnering with GREENPEACE and PATAGONIA to save our recycle center in order to make other products out of the waste. There is a way to reuse the plastic and not abandon it in our precious oceans.

HEIDI HUDEK - PHOTOGRAPHY
Heidi Hudek sees the North Fork Valley is an inspirational place, worthy of celebration. Heidi has lived in Delta County since 2005 and been a landscape photographer since 1990. She found a love of photography in college while working in the school's Photography Department, and began capturing the beautiful Colorado landscape. Heidi is also a singer and percussionist; dancer; photographer; watercolor and acrylic painter; pastel and sketch artist; jewelry maker; and an actress.  Now, one of her many creative pursuits, is available for you to experience!

SPACE TO CREATE PAONIA
UPDATE

As the managing entity of the Paonia Creative District, the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition is committed to supporting a vibrant arts scene in Paonia. This necessitates developing and maintaining a robust membership base, strategic marketing campaigns, quality public art, impactful signage and wayfinding, authentic signature events, and advocacy at the local, county, and state levels. Community and economic development are the core mission of everything the coalition does. When Colorado Creative Industries announced the Space to Create Colorado initiative, we positioned ourselves to ensure that Paonia had a strong application to submit.

Space to Create Colorado is the first state driven initiative for affordable housing for creative sector workers in the nation. The mission is to develop affordable housing and work space, including commercial space, for creative industries and artisans and to position Colorado as the nation’s leader in creatively led community transformation in rural communities. We believe Space to Create is a positive project for our community. Supporting creative pursuits results in job creation and is a proven method of diversifying the economy especially where there are job losses in mining and extractive industry sectors. Read More
