The Highs and the Lows
March 2020
Last newsletter, I shared how "M" had accepted Christ.  It was a wonderful moment and in many ways the culmination of 4+ years of God working on her heart through Casa Adalia.  Being present for that was an incredible emotional high point for the work that we do here.

But not everyday is like that.  Most days aren't, actually.  And some days are really, really hard.

A couple weeks ago, two of our women decided to leave the program suddenly and unexpectedly.  The reality of the work we do is that the majority of the women who enter our program will leave without graduating.  But it is still extremely difficult emotionally.  For more of my thoughts on that, feel free to read my blog post.  For the purposes of this newsletter, though, I wanted you all to be aware of the situation, and of course ask for your prayers for the women that left and the women that are still in the house.

As always, what Satan intended for evil, God can use for good.  We've been at capacity for a while now and I hope that having a slightly smaller household will allow us to focus more intently on all of our participants and give them all the support they need.

We have heard from one of the women, "E".  E came back to the house to pick up her things, and we were able to say goodbyes and tell her that we love her and will miss her.  It was a beautiful and sweet time, and I'm so grateful God blessed us with that.  Please pray that we would have the opportunity to do the same with the other woman who left.

In other news, I'm heading back to the States at the end of the month for the first time since arriving in Ecuador!  It's a very quick trip to be part of the wedding of one of my college roommates.  I'm so excited!
Unfortunately, I have a very limited amount of time this trip and so I can't see nearly as many people as I would like.  However, I will be at First Baptist Church in Belton, Texas on Sunday, March 29th if anyone would like to chat!  Just reply to this email or reach out on one of my social media accounts (links below) so I know to look for you!
So, so many prayer requests this month.  As I mentioned above, please pray for "E" and "N" and N's daughter, "D" as they transition to life outside of Casa Adalia.  Please pray for protection physically and against spiritual warfare.
Pray for "M", "G", "T" and their children as they work through their own emotions about the other women leaving.

Pray for the staff as we also process the events that happened and where we go from here.  Pray that we have wisdom in the decisions that need to be made and that we learn from the events that happened.
Personally, please pray for my trip to the States.  I'm so excited, but it feels strange to think about leaving Casa A with all this turmoil happening right now.
Overall, please pray for peace and trust in God's plan and in His goodness.
