UCI Sustainability Winter 2020 Week 9 Digest
 

Greetings Anteaters,

Join us tomorrow at 12 pm for part 8 of the Sustainability Salon series, Environmental Justice: How Can Sustainability Be Accessible to All? Lunch will be provided.

Next Monday, March 9th, at 2:30 pm, we will host the final Sustainability Co-curricular Working Group (SCWG) meeting of the quarter at the SRC (G464) on the fourth floor of the Student Center. We will discuss preparations for next quarter's Earth Week events, marking the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, as well as updates and plans for any and all sustainability organizations on campus! If you or your organization is interested in collaborating on an Earth Week event or would like to share your plans for Earth Week, you are welcome to attend this planning workshop.

ASUCI Housing Security Commission Presents: #AnteatersNeedHomes

Come out to support this advocacy campaign event on Wednesday of Week 9 (March 4th), from 11am-3pm to read housing testimonials from folks facing or who have faced housing insecurity on campus, as well as get the chance to submit your own testimonial! Housing insecurity can come in various forms such as ability to pay rent, high costs of rent, and uncomfortable living situations. This program brings awareness and collects evidence of housing insecurity in order to invoke change! There will be free testing materials available to students, as well as stickers! Follow Facebook hashtag #AnteatersNeedHomes to follow the ongoing campaign!

Spring Fever

The Center for Student Wellness and Health Promotion will be hosting its annual Spring Fever events on Wednesday, March 4th and Thursday, March 5th. These events are designed to promote and encourage a safe spring break as well as overall health and wellness. Core areas of focus for the event are: sexual health, alcohol awareness, and sun safety.

Now Hiring: Move Out Attendants 
                                         

UCI Housing Move Out Donation Drive Attendants will help to service in-hall donation bins in the 4 undergraduate communities of Mesa Court, Middle Earth, Arroyo Vista, and Campus Village in cooperation with community partners: Goodwill, One World Clothing, AMVETS, and FRESH Basic Needs Hub. Staff will help to deploy, maintain, and regularly check and empty donation bins. Staff will additionally promote the donation drive program, place signage, and share information with residents.

Move Out Attendants serve in critical roles to support the mission and vision of UCI Student Housing’s Sustainability Program and the University’s path towards Zero Waste.
