2020 SunSmart Masters and 2020 Sunsmart Country Championships
Best of luck to all of our competitors heading to Denmark this weekend for both the 2020 Sunsmart Masters and Country Championships.
We are pretty excited to see so many Albany SLSC members heading over for the week to give it their best shot and represent Albany.
Enormous thanks to those members behind the scenes who have been busily getting things organised for the weekend. It is by no means a small task.
We have been informed that there may be changes to the program due to weather and predicted conditions on SUNDAY so please make sure you ALL keep informed.
Information of any changes will flow to you as quickly as we receive it.
Have a blast everyone and GO ALBANY!!!

Annual Awards
The Albany SLSC operates successfully due to the hard work, commitment and dedication of an enormous number of volunteers. This season we have implemented a NEW Honours and Awards Policy and Committee to ensure that we have an open and transparent process to value, recognise and celebrate the HUGE contribution of our members to our Club and the community.
Nominations are now open. Please be aware, there have been some amendments on previous years process and criteria. Please take the time to think about your fellow members. Our Annual awards all about acknowledging and recognising individuals who have made a contribution 'over and above' each year; whether they are a competitor, committee member, coach or general volunteer. All members have had information emailed to them outlining the process, categories and criteria today.

Just a reminder....
Due to the 2020 Sunsmart Country Champs there are NO normal club events this weekend.

A new shipment of bathers has arrived.
All sizes of jammers and men’s racers.
Ladies bikinis and girls size 14s.

Open 8:30am - 11am sharp

Community Happenings

2020 .... Albany SLS club is taking simple steps towards sustainability and we need your help.

Some simple steps we will be taking here at the club include:

Introducing recycling bins for bottles, cans, card and paper.

We encourage you to bring your own reusuable coffee cup

Composting bin for waste food on Sundays and functions.

Please note: there are 3 recycle bins, one will be located in the bar area and one outside the canteen on Sundays. They have yellow lids and are labelled with a recycling sticker. The bottles and cans MUST be empty before putting in bins. Please completely fill one bin before the next one is filled, as the club pays Cleanaway per bin to empty. Encourage your fellow clubbies to do the right thing.

If any one is interested in taking home the waste food for compost on Sundays please contact Corinne 0428376527

There are also plans to arrange a beach clean up in the New Year.

Club also hopes to sell 'keep cups' in club colours for those that don't already own a keep cup.

Thank in advance for getting 'on board' with looking after the future of our amazing Albany and beyond!

Surf Life Saving Western Australia are seeking nominations for the 2020 Coastal Bravery awards and need clubs and members to keep an eye out for potential nominees.

Nominees may include members of the public who perform an act of bravery on the coast, or one of our own members performing a conspicuous act of bravery while on patrol, or utilising their lifesaving skills in a similarly brave manner off the coast.

Nominations for the 2020 awards ceremony, nominations close 5pm Sunday, 8 March 2020.
