'Knead' a Stress Break this Semester? 
We've got you covered. CSW is offering two (totally free!) Stressbusting events this week on March 4 and March 6! In addition to neck and shoulder rubs, there will also be light snacks, coloring, and aromatherapy available. Check out the Upcoming Events section for details on how to RSVP. Space is limited. 

Addiction Rounds This Week!
Please join us as the NYC Department of Health Rapid Assessment and Response (RAR) team shares their preliminary findings from our neighborhood as well as practical resources and opportunities to support their work. Lunch will be provideddetails in the Upcoming Events section!

'Knead' a Stress Break? Stressbusters for CUIMC Students!

Take a few minutes to yourself this semester and join us for Stressbusters in the SHS space! Stressbusters are CUIMC students trained by a Licensed Massage Therapist to give neck and shoulder rubs to students at CUIMC Stressbusting events. Light snacks, coloring, and aromatherapy will also be provided. We are offering two sessions! Space is limited: please RSVP by Eventbrite for a Stressbusters appointment and inform us of any dietary restrictions.

Addiction Rounds: From Data to Practice  Systems-Level Change and Community Engagement in Washington Heights

Wednesday, March 4 | 12:00pm–1:00pm | VEC 1402/1403
Presenters: NYC DOH Janell Tyron, MPH and Diang Severino
NYC Department of Health Rapid Assessment and Response (RAR) team (part of Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Use Prevention, Care, and Treatment) has been implementing a community needs assessment examining public drug use and syringe litter by talking with people who use drugs and the providers that care for them in Washington Heights. This assessment and community intervention strategy, successfully implemented once before in the South Bronx, is being replicated in Washington Heights. Please join us as this team shares their preliminary findings from our neighborhood as well as practical resources and opportunities to support this work. Lunch will be provided!

Talking with Teens: Relationships and Consent 
Tuesday, March 11 | 11:30am–1:00pm | Tower 2, Third Floor Multi-Purpose Room
We invite you to a lunch-time talk sponsored by CUIMC Office of Sexual Violence Response, Columbia Humanitarian Organization for Migration and Emergencies (HOME) and Bloom Girls Mentoring, with a special focus on stories of immigrant youth and working in communities in which teens may face particular or unique challenges in talking about sex, relationships, dating violence, and consent. The event will offer a learning segment on the specific topics of the developmental stage, the concept of identity, the impact of media and social media, teens' rights in New York, and resources offered by the Office of Sexual Violence Response on campus. The event also will have a guest speaker who will speak about her personal experiences as a student, immigrant, and survivor. Lunch will be served

CUIMC Knits

Wednesdays | 4:00pm–7:00pm | Third Floor Multi-Purpose Room, Tower 2
Always wanted to learn how to knit but not sure where to start? CUIMC Knits is a cozy space for all levels of knitters to connect and practice and learn new knitting techniques. Drop in to work on a new project or bring something you're already working on. Needles, yarn, and instruction provided for beginners! There's no commitment—come as often and stay as long as you'd like. Email Jenn Nguyen to be added to the Knits email list.

Sound Bath Meditations
Tuesdays | 12:45pm–1:15pm | MSCH/Pauline A. Hartford Memorial Chapel, Presbyterian Hospital First Floor
Spend 30 minutes listening to sound vibration and restoring your sense of self. Sound baths offer an alternative to traditional meditation by facilitating a shift in your brainwave state. Sounds are created by a wide range of instruments including Himalayan singing bowls, ocean drum, shruti box, chimes and overtone singing. Facilitated by music therapist Miss Hall, MA, LCAT, MT-BC.
