FAMILY GROUP CONFERENCE NI shared the results of a A SCOPING STUDY OF SELF-REFERRAL PROCESSES for Family Group Conferences which was conducted by Dr. Mandi MacDonald and Dr. Davy Hayes from QUB on the 21st January 2020. This was in keeping with the FGCNI vision that “ every citizen has the right to involvement in decision making that affects their family life and should be given the opportunity to exercise this right through family group conference and restorative practices”. One of the recommendations of the Scoping Study suggested “The FGC project should engage closely with other helping professionals and community based support organisations both to help advertise and direct families to the service, and to help mobilise the services families might need to effectively implement their plan".
