SAUSALITO WOMAN'S CLUB
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

JINKS PERFORMANCE POSTPONED
Due to health concerns on the part of some of the Jinks cast members, it has been agreed today by Kim Huff, First Vice-President, and Candace Curtis, Jinks Director, to postpone the performance scheduled for Saturday, March 14th, 2020.

We have re-scheduled the Jinks for Saturday, April 25th, 2020, with a back-up date of May 2nd. The plan at this point, subject to change due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, is to have two performances of the Jinks on the same day. The first will be for family and friends of the cast and crew, the second one will be for the club membership. Details will follow in future email blasts.

I wish to thank each and every woman who has worked so hard these past months to learn lines, songs and dance routines. To the hard-working behind-the-scenes crew, set painters, voice coaches, costume designers, make-up artists, lighting and sound crew: your efforts are so appreciated!! I can never fully thank Kim Huff, Candace Curtis or Karen Betzner for the time, effort and enthusiasm with which they have guided this process.

The 2020 Jinks Class deserves to be applauded and celebrated with a live audience in a relaxed environment. We will attempt to provide that in April!!

CORONA VIRUS SYMPTOMS
AND SELF-CHECK EVALUATION

The following advice is from Chinese and Japanese doctors treating COVID-19 patients:

1) If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold.

2) Coronavirus pneumonia has a dry cough with no runny nose.

3) Coronavirus first infects the throat. You will have a sore throat for three to four days.  Salt and warm water gargling is an effective preventative measure.

4) The virus will then blend into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This will take five to six days.

5) With pneumonia comes a high fever and difficulty breathing. Seek immediate attention.

Additional Information:

1) Coronavirus is heat sensitive and may be killed by temperatures as low as mid-seventies. It hates the sun.

2) Coronavirus will live on a metal surface up to 12 hours, so if you touch a metal surface, use hand sanitizer or wash your hands as soon as possible.

3) Coronavirus will live on fabric from 6-12 hours and may be killed by normal laundry detergent.

4) Drinking warm water is more effective than cold. Avoid liquids with ice, but keep hydrated.  Everyone should ensure their mouth and throat are moist, never dry. Take a few sips of water every 15 minutes. If the virus gets into your mouth, drinking water or other liquids will wash it into your stomach, and once there will be killed by stomach acid.

Simple Self-Check to Evaluate Your Symptoms:

1) Take a deep breath. Hold your breath for more than 10 seconds. If you complete it successfully without coughing, without discomfort, stiffness or tightness, it proves there is no Fibrosis in the lungs. It basically indicates no infection. Self-check every morning in an environment with clean air.
