Youth Week of Prayer begins today and the first reading will be done by our AY Director, Sis Alexia Graham.  The service will be streamed live on Facebook @11:00am for the benefit of those persons who will not be in attendance.

Churchgoers Should Practise Social Distancing

Ministers, pastors and church leaders are being advised to encourage churchgoers to practise social distancing, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19)

Principal Medical Officer, National Epidemiologist, Ministry of Health and Wellness, Dr. Karen Webster-Kerr, told JIS News that pastors should inform their congregation about the need to practise social distancing, which keeps people from interacting closely or frequently enough to spread an infectious disease.

“We would recommend that persons keep a safe distance, at least one metre (three feet between yourself and anyone), especially if you are not from the same household,” she said.

Dr. Webster-Kerr is also recommending that persons avoid touching their eyes, nose and mouth.

My Dear Church Family,
Kindly observe the following Church Protocols as it relates to the COVID-19 Crisis.
  1. Members, the elderly and visitors with any health issues should stay home and where possible watch the services online.
  2. Members and visitors traveling from overseas should stay home for at least 14 days.
  3. No Church lunch will be served until further notice.
  4. Our Church clean-up and sanitation day is still on for Sunday, March 15, 2020.
  5. Our Deacons, Deacons and Ushers should wear gloves and there will be no shaking of hands and/or hugging.
  6. All community funerals and other large gatherings are cancelled.
  7. Church should end at 12.30pm today.
  8. We will look at cancelling  AY and Sunday evening services or doing creative online services in place of them.
  9. An emergency committee has been set up headed by Elder Marston Thomas. 
  10.  Practice good hygiene as recommended by the Ministry of Health and Wellness  and read the protocol messages from the Jamaica Union and the East Jamaica Conference.
Most importantly Brethren please continue to pray without ceasing. This is not a time to be afraid, it is an opportunity to speak love, comfort and hope to our brothers and sisters and the community.  Remember, we serve a mighty God.  Thank you and may God bless you.

All able-bodied members are being encouraged to participate in the general cleaning up and sanitation of the church tomorrow, Sunday, March 15, 2020 starting at 7:00am.
All persons interested in being certified in First Aid and CPR can contact Sis Edris Lewis by March 21, 2020.  The Training will be held at the East Jamaica Conference.

All board members are being reminded of the Emergency Board Meeting at 9:00am today.  Please be on time.
There will be no Bible Class today as Services will be suspended after Divine Service.
There will be no AY Service this Afternoon. 
There will be no club meetings for the next two (2) Sundays, March 15th and 29th as all club activities have been put on hold until further notice.
