Dear DFC Members and Volunteers,

We have received some questions related to DFC activities in light of COVID-19. Here is our response. 

1. Per the alert we sent yesterday we are recommending avoiding gatherings of more than 25 people. If volunteer activities have not yet been canceled please use your discretion to determine whether or not you wish to participate. It is totally acceptable if you wish to postpone until next month or later if that is what you choose to do. 
    
2. As discussed in our last member meeting we will not be having a monthly in-person meeting. Stay tuned for information about a virtual meeting. 
    
3. Our scheduled event with Queer Health Committee is not yet canceled. We are going to hold off to see how many people RSVP and what recommendations are in effect next week. We will announce a decision by March 20th. 
    
4. We know that your respective institutions are making decisions related to work, classes, infection control, etc. If there is specific information you wish to share, please send it to us and we will see that it is vetted and shared as appropriate.

Finally, we are in touch with partners in Harris County Public Health and the CDC. We will monitor the situation and send out additional information as needed. This is a good time to reflect on ways in which DFC might address healthcare access in light of a pandemic and the vulnerable populations for which we advocate.
