As of today, March 18, Mendocino County joins several Bay Area counties with an order for Shelter in Place for any non-essential services. We have discontinued hosting guests through April 1. We will continue to review recommendations for Mendocino County and the Bay Area and be in touch on a weekly basis as we consider opportunities to welcome you back in various ways.
The Good News:
- Mendocino County Health and Human Services indicates as of this afternoon, March 18, there are no known cases of corona-virus in Mendocino county
- No staff have symptoms or have traveled near a major outbreak.
- We will tend to essential services here, including office functions, while taking all precautions for safety and working independently from one another.
- You are welcome to email us with inquiries for late Spring, Summer and Fall. We will respond - even if from home. We would love to provide information for future stays and even "gift certificates" for friends and family if you are able to help us weather this difficult time without guests.
- We hope to plant some seeds for delicious salsa this summer and some herbs for those of you coming later this spring!
We've been busy responding to this new reality of pandemic, but wherever you are, we send you the quiet of the ancient redwoods that have withstood so much and are still growing, and the life-giving waters of the Navarro. The Coho and Steelhead salmon are now, finally, hopefully, able to find their destinations upstream and down with the rising waters from the recent rains.
May you and your community be as well as possible as we continue creative resilience, solidarity and interdependence in the planetary ecosystem.
