Hi everyone,
Today I would like to pay tribute to someone who has been one of our long-time supporters in both a voluntary and paid capacity.
Paul Bolger was our first Mini Music dad, bringing his younger daughter along to the Sumner session when we started this programme in October 2009. We got to know each other well as a result of this, and in the early days, a group of us used to go out for sushi after Mini Music each Tuesday morning. Paul would help with the clean up after the session each week, and eventually became the go-to person for doing the morning tea for the Sumner session until his daughter went off to school.
Good things came out of getting to know Paul. When we finally decided we needed a website, he was willing to host it for us, and in the early days did not charge for this. When he upgraded it to a WordPress based site, we began to pay a fee each year for his services, and he gave me a relatively free hand in customising it, rescuing me on a number of occasions when I broke the website. He’d say, “How did you manage to do that, Eddie?” with great amusement. For about half the years we’ve run the annual Community Carols events Paul set up and ran the sound system for us as a volunteer. His background in sound engineering came in very handy!
Sadly, Paul died suddenly on Wednesday 4 March, leaving behind his wife and his 15 and 12-year-old daughters. As long as I’ve known him, Paul was the primary caregiver for his daughters. I considered Paul a friend and colleague and he will be very missed.Our condolences to his loved ones.

Loopy Tunes
We’re still looking for a volunteer to assist with the Sumner session, particularly the morning tea and clean up afterwards.
Sumner: 9.30 am, Puoro-raki, Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre.
Redcliffs, 10.30am, Redcliffs Uniting Church hall, 4 Augusta Street.
Each session costs $2 per child and is followed by morning tea and a playtime.
Happy Hour
Our third Happy Hour of the year will be held on Friday 3 April from 4-6pm at the Redcliffs Uniting Church hall, 4 Augusta Street. Refreshments are provided. We had 25 people at the last event, and it was great fun.
