Beste lid van de NKWP/ Dear member of the NKWP:
Hierbij wat informatie over de NKWP en het aanstaande politicologenetmaal.
Het Bestuur van de NKWP heeft zojuist een vergadering gehouden (per Skype) en hebben in overleg met Dr. Maurits Meijers en Dr. Andrej Zaslove, Radboud Universiteit, het volgende besluit genomen.
Het politicologenetmaal 2020 gaat voorlopig door maar een definitieve beslissing wordt op donderdag 14 mei genomen. In het geval dat het tot verplaatsing komt dan zou de conferentie plaatsvinden op 3 oktober ’20, gelet op schoolvakanties in Nederland en Vlaanderen en gezien voorlichtingsactiviteiten bij Radboud Universiteit.
SARS-COV2 / COVID-19-update:
Het lokale organisatieteam en de NKWP / VPW hebben voor het Politcologenetmaal 2020 het volgende protocol vastgesteld:
- Workshop voorzitters blijven papers verzamelen voor de workshops. We moedigen deelnemers aan om door te gaan met het reageren op de ‘Call for Papers’ (CfP)
- De beslissing om de conferentie al dan niet af te lasten wordt op donderdag 14 mei 2020 genomen. We volgen de situatie op de voet.
- Registratieperiode wordt verlengd tot en met dinsdag 26 mei 2020.
- Als de conferentie niet doorgaat op 11-12 juni 2020 hebben we besloten de conferentie uit te stellen.
- In geval van uitstel wordt de conferentie gehouden als een eendaagse conferentie in Nijmegen en wel op zaterdag 3 oktober 2020.
- In geval dat de conferentie op 11-12 juni niet doorgaat hebben geregistreerde deelnemers de mogelijkheid om deel te nemen in 3 oktober 2020 of hun registratiekosten volledige terugbetaling te krijgen.
- Wat betreft de eventuele boeking van accommodatie en reizen, adviseren wij om zo flexibel mogelijk te boeken met het oog op een eventuele latere mogelijke annulering van de conferentie in juni.
Ik hoop dat ik u voorlopig voldoende geïnformeerd heb en ik zal medio mei weer een update sturen. Mocht u in de tussentijd nog vragen, opmerkingen of reacties hebben, dan verneem ik die graag.

Here is some information about the NKWP and the upcoming ‘politicologenetmaal’ (the annual Dutch/Flemish political science conference).
The Board of the NKWP just met (virtually) and in consultation with Dr. Maurits Meijers en Dr. Andrej Zaslove, of the Radboud Universiteit has decided as follows:
The 2020 politicologenetmaal will proceed, for the time being, but a final decision will be made on Thursday 14 May. Should we, at that point, decide not to hold the conference in June we have decided to defer the conference to an alternative date in the autumn. The conference will take place on October 3, 2020. This date has been chosen considering school holidays in the Netherlands and Flanders and in consideration of open days and other information activities already planned at Radboud University.
SARS-COV2 / COVID-19 Update:
The local organizing team and the NKWP /VPW have decided the following protocol for the Politcologenetmaal 2020:
- Workshop chairs will continue to collect papers for the workshops. We encourage participants to continue to apply for the CfP.
- The decision whether or not to discontinue the conference will be made on Thursday, 14 May 2020. We are monitoring the situation closely.
- Registration period is extended until Tuesday, 26 May 2020 to enable later registration.
- If the conference will not take place on June 11-12, 2020 we have decided to postpone the conference.
- In case of cancellation, the conference will be held as one-day conference on Saturday, October 3, 2020.
- In case of postponement, registered participants have the option to participate in October 3, 2020 or receive a full refund.
- Regarding accommodation and travel, we advise to book as flexibly as possible to ensure possible cancellation.
