Notice to Members and Friends

Dear Starr King UU Fellowship Members and Friends,

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve made some decisions about how best to care for our Fellowship and be responsible to our wider community. We will be holding our worship service this weekend (Sunday, March 15) but not next Sunday (March 22). We will revisit our decisions and our future programing as information becomes available. Here’s what we’ve decided today:

1. Starting Monday, March 16, we will no longer hold gatherings, meetings, or other activities in our Fellowship building. We will continue this policy for the foreseeable future.

2. All regular meetings can continue meeting by Zoom Conference call or by telephone. Our Fellowship has a Zoom Account. Our Vice President, Mary Crowell will be sending access information to Committee Chairs, Board Members, Soul Matters Facilitators and anyone else who would like to use the App to hold a meeting. The only limitation right now, is that it can only host one meeting at a time. If this becomes too limiting, we’ll add another account. Contact Lisa (admin@starrkingfellowship.org) to be put on the Zoom schedule.

3. After this Sunday, worship will continue remotely. We’ve not worked this all out yet, but we will. We might live stream, we might use a Zoom conference, we just don’t know yet. Please stay connected via email, Facebook, and our website. We’ll let you know when we know more.

4. Pastoral Care – We don’t know how this pandemic will hit our community. If we’re lucky we’ll think, “Oh wow, we really over reacted!” We hope that’s so. In the meantime, please take care of yourself and each other. If you need someone to talk with, if you feel like things are coming too undone, too uncertain, too lonely, too financially burdensome… whatever is true for you, reach out. If you want to talk with Linda, call the office at (603) 536-8908, and our office administrator, Lisa, can arrange this, or send Linda an email (minister@starrkingfellowship.org) and she’ll get back to you directly.

5. Check in with each other. Humans are not meant to be solitary creatures, and we’re a community for a reason.

Let us be a community that helps to flattens the corona virus curve. We can show our compassion and care of the world community through a morally reasonable response to this threat. We will let you know more as we know more.

Be well and take good care,

Rev. Linda Barnes and Pres. Deedie Kriebel
