Dear Friends,
We’ve been following closely the COVID-19 updates.  As you have heard, the Government of Ontario has closed public schools for the two weeks following March Break (to contain transmission after travelling), most universities have suspended face-to-face classes, community centres are closed down for the next three weeks and our healthcare professionals, in our church and wider community, are asking that we try to mitigate the spread of this virus to ensure they have capacity for all who need help.

In light of the new developments in the last day, we are joining many churches across the province by cancelling our service for this Sunday March 15th.  As one of our elder’s friends said: "The risk of infection is very low. The cancellations are intended to keep it that way.”  This was not an easy decision to make, but it’s made out of love for those who are most vulnerable in our midst, as well as love for our government officials, healthcare professionals and fellow citizens. …Keep an eye on your email as we consider the status of our future services.

Also, we encourage you to be safe and follow the advice of our public health authorities.
More local information can be found here:

Know that you are not alone and that we as your elders, pastoral care team members and staff are available to respond to your emails and phone calls so we can journey with you in this situation.

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble, therefore we will not fear. Psalm 46:1

Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition…and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

Pray for the people around the world who are already suffering from the effects of COVID-19 and for all who are providing leadership in our community and churches. Check in with those in our congregation or in your neighbourhoods, who are isolated and may need groceries or be blessed by a friendly conversation: this is a wonderful opportunity to pass along the love of Christ to others.

Consider taking the time allotted for our Sunday services to read scripture and to pray for all concerned, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Thank-you.

I’ll be in touch again soon, take care of yourselves.
Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Rob

“The Lord is good and refuge in times of trouble” Nahum 1:7

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1
