In the December issue, our editorial was about the importance of human stories in really 'knowing' about the impact of the climate emergency. If you don't have real stories about named people in named places the word 'emergency' remains abstract.

Call to protect Congo peatlands

Rigobert Minani SJ,  writes of efforts to protect the Congo basin peatlands, which store up to 30.6 billion tons of carbon,  the equivalent of nearly 20 years of US fossil fuel emissions.

Papal Nuncio visits JESC.
February 2020
Mgr. Alain Paul Lebeaupin, Papal Nuncio to the E.U. paid JESC a visit on 27th February.  Mgr. Lebeaupain is a great supporter of JESC's work on ecology and played a key role in setting up the Article 17 Dialogue Seminar in the Parliament on Business and Laudato Si' which JESC hosted.
"A really good story is like a friend and a friendship itself depends on the telling of stories."
