Evergreen's Response to COVID-19:
Here is the letter from the pastors that was sent this morning.

Lenten Devotionals. Reading along with the congregation is a great way to stay connected during this time. For the digital copy, click here.

I am reminded of the quote from A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times. it was the worst of times."
At this moment it may seem like the worst of times, however God uses the worst of times for our best. If we look back at the history of the Church, it has grown the most, while experiencing adversity. This is true in our personal lives as well.
I would encourage you to see this challenge as an opportunity for your own spiritual growth as well as the spiritual growth of our community.
To that end, let's all begin each day with prayer for God's protection and peace and that we can be a source of hope to others.
Here is a prayer I would like to share with you:

Father,
Worry and fear are not of Your heart. 1 John 4 reminds us that perfect love casts out all fear, and we pray Your perfect love upon the hearts of all those who are burdened with fear of this virus. Lord, we know with no doubt that You are bigger than the threat of anything, especially illnesses. Please comfort those who are living in fear, please free them from the bondage that anxiety creates within. Remind them that You are still on the Throne and that You are still in control. Fully rain down the serenity that comes only from the Prince of Peace. Help those who are living in unease to trust You in this time so that in times to come we may rest assured that You will be faithful to be with us until the end of age. We rest at the Throne of the Almighty such fears and cast them upon You (1 Peter 5:7), for Your burden is Light and Your Yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30), we know You cover us with Your wings (Psalm 91:4).
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Grace & Peace to You,

Pastor Julie

Nicolas Fund for Education News:

A Note from NFE:
"Dear friends of Nicolás Fund for Education,

We have made the difficult decision to postpone our annual Fulfilling a Dream dessert fundraiser given the recent outbreak of Covid-19 virus in our region.   Your health and safety are very important to us.  The event is being rescheduled for the autumn and more details will follow.  We appreciate your understanding.

For those who wish to, it would be extremely helpful to our fiscal planning and student capacity planning for 2021 if you would still make your annual donation in April, and then attend our event in the autumn to have coffee and dessert and enjoy an update on all that is happening at Nicolás Fund for Education.  If you prefer to wait until the actual event to donate, however, that is perfectly fine.

We are all praying for a rapid and complete resolution of this pandemic and for the people who have suffered because of it."
