What A Different World From When I

Started Writing This
I have written and rewritten this announcement multiple times, starting several weeks ago. In the interim, the world has changed dramatically and with it, the kinds of things I planned to say. Tonight, the president just announced an extension of the social distancing guidelines for at least the next thirty days. So let me start by saying what is most important: that I hope and pray that each of you who gets this remains safe and healthy during this extraordinary and challenging period.

Something Small I Can Do For You

I am struck by the goodness that ordinary people show during times of crisis. Everywhere people are helping others get through this situation safely and comfortably. Normally, I would be one of them as volunteering has been an important part of who I am, but for the first time in my life, my age limits the ways in which I can contribute. That is both humbling and somewhat frustrating.

As a writer however, one way I can help is to at least provide you with a few hours of entertainment, so FROM TODAY, MARCH 29 UNTIL APRIL 3, THE EBOOK FOR MY PARANORMAL THRILLER, AMANDA'S ROOM IS FREE ON AMAZON.The normal price was $5.99 and this is the first time this book has been discounted since it was first published. You do not have to join Kindle Unlimited or any other program to receive the book for free. Just go to the link below and order the download. If you don't have a Kindle reader, you can also download the free Kindle reader, which will allow you to read the book on your tablet or computer. With 69 ratings and reviews, Amanda's Room has a 4.7 star rating on Amazon. NOTE: THAT BECAUSE OF A GLITCH ON AMAZON, THE COVER FOR THE EBOOK DOES NOT APPEAR. Amazon is working on fixing this but you can still view inside the book and download your free copy from Amazon by clicking on the link below (or entering it into your browser):

I hope that my novel gives you an emotional break and I welcome your comments, questions and feedback. Like you, I have plenty of extra time to engage in discussion. Please feel free to share this with anyone else you think would enjoy the book.

ON and OFF the Road Again

Even before the launch event for Wounded Angels, I was busy non-stop with book and non-book related events. The day before the book was published, I was at Sacred Heart University, "Staring" in another commercial for a medical product being filmed by Miceli Productions: the audio-visual company run by my son Mike and daughter-in-law, Jenn.

Too much fun.

When Wounded Angels was published on January 14, I was on my way to Exeter, New Hampshire to be interviewed on the January 15 broadcast of the Early Late Night Live Show. The show was a blast and really entertaining. I even got to be part of their "Trailer Trash" segment. I think you will find the entire show a really enjoyable time. Here is the link to this wonderfully entertaining evening with Kilarney Traynor, her co-hosts, and me:

On January 22, I spoke to the members of the Southington Lions Club.It was particularly satisfying to do the presentation at the Manor Inn because it is almost next door to Grace's Restaurant, which is featured prominently in Wounded Angels.
On January 23, Brian Williams, interviewed me for his podcast that features members of the Southington Chamber of Commerce. You can hear the podcast by clicking on the link below:

If it doesn't play immediately, copy and past the link in to your browser. Thank you so much for the great interview, Brian!

On January 25, more than seventy of you came out for the joint launch of Wounded Angels and the Love Heals song album by Gordon Ellis and his brother Mark. It was a grand affair filled with fun, food, song and support. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful support we received from Ron Brown, pastor of the First Congregational Church, who hosted the event, to Windham Vance, who provided invaluable marketing, scheduling and logistical support, to Gordon and Diane Ellis, whose participation and presence made the day so very special, and to all my wonderful family and friends, who were so helpful and supportive in more ways than I could possibly cover here.
On February 10, I met with members of the Friends Book Club in Southington to discuss Wounded Angels and answer their questions about it. It was a delightful evening and my thanks to all involved, especially to Toni Escott who recommended the book to the club and to Marianne Deryinoski, who graciously hosted the meeting.

On February 22, I held my first public book signing at Patrick Baker and Sons in Southington, CT. Many thanks to Maureen Baker Kelly for hosting the event and to the wonderful staff at Baker's for all their support.

In addition to hosting the signing event, the store at 1650 West Street in Southington also carries signed copies of the book for sale. Their phone number is 800-243-6385.
And Then the World Changed!
On February 29, Judy and I flew to South Carolina for a much needed vacation. In addition to the events I had already completed, I had a whole series of book signings, presentations, and book club events scheduled for immediately after our return. While in South Carolina we visited with Judy's cousins Christine and Mark, and my brother John and his wife, Barbara. Gradually the stress of all of the book related activities subsided, while a new, more serious threat emerged. The Corona virus that was half-a-world away, suddenly spread out from China to other countries. The U.S. closed travel from China as the virus began taking a heavy tool in Italy and other European countries. Even before we returned to Connecticut on March 14, the President announced an extension of the travel ban to most European countries. Within days of our return, the world was coping with a pandemic. One of the most crucial aspects of slowing the spread of the virus, which could cause it to overwhelm the health care system with catastrophic consequences, is that of social distancing. We quickly heard of limitations on crowds over 200, to 50 to 10 and with it, announcements of closings of schools, restaurants, movies, clubs, sporting events and many others.

In light of these developments, it seems irresponsible to plan, host or participate in events that are designed to bring groups of people together. Therefore, I have postponed all of my personal appearances for any book related activities between now and at least July 1. If I have one scheduled with any of you or your organizations, I will be contacting you. Otherwise, feel free to contact me. Working together, we can slow the spread of this virus and minimize the resulting sickness and deaths.

Let us hope that this serves as a reminder for the future that what unites us is of far more significance and importance than what divides us.

In the interim, I wish you and yours peace, health and happiness, and God bless us, everyone.

I'd love to hear from you. You can connect with me via my contact page on either my author's website, AuthorChuckMiceli.com, my Wounded Angels book website, WoundedAngelsBook.com
That's it for now. Thank you for allowing me to share this with you. My goal is to provide you with information that you find useful and enjoyable. Feel free to let me know how I am doing and what I can do to make it better. In the meantime, I wish you and yours every good thing and especially now, continued health and happiness.

Warmest Regards,

Chuck
