Annual Meeting Canceled: Southern California Academy of
Sciences (SCAS) 2020
What would have been a call for presenters is now a notice informing you that SCAS 2020 has been canceled by the hosting university, Cal State Fullerton, following other precautionary steps the university is taking towards COVID-19.
Thank you very much to those who had expressed interest in the Desert Session at SCAS. We hope you will get a chance to present your work with us in the future.

Meet Dr. Anne Kelly, the DSC's Research and Education Director
Dr. Anne Kelly is the newest member of the Desert Studies Center team, taking on the role of Director of Research & Education. Dr. Kelly received a B.S. in Physics at Caltech, a M.S. in Environmental Science at CSULA, and a Ph.D. in Earth System Science from UC Irvine. During her past career as an astrophysicist, she provided support for the Spitzer Space Telescope, the NASA Extragalactic Database, and research on the formation of old galaxies. She served as Director of UC Merced’s field stations in Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks and as an ecologist for both the US Geological Survey Canyonlands Field Office and the Catalina Island Conservancy.
