THIS WEEKS UPDATE - 10th March 2020
Vegetables:
Our Green Leafy herbs and vegetables have started to come back in price slightly such as Coriander, Dill, Leeks, English Spinach, Spinach Silverbeet, Choy Sum, Buk Choy, Chinese Broccoli, En Choy, Gai Choy and Winter melon. Broccoli is still high priced even this week, also Broccolini, Green Peas and Sugar snap Peas have gone up in price. Please be mindful when ordering. Some other veggies which have increased in price this week are Beetroot, Red Capsicums, Zucchinis, Cherry Tomatoes and once again Brown onions. Telegraph Cucumbers, Eschallots, Fennel, Chilli variety - Birdseye, long Red and Green have also gone higher. There has been a significant price rise in Whole Garlic and Peeled garlic.
On the bright side this week Lettuce Iceberg, Cos/Romaine Lettuce and also Baby Cos Lettuce have slightly dropped down in price. Aussie and Lebanese Cucumbers, Cauliflower and loose Corn have further decreased in price. Okra is low priced and can be the best buy of this week.
Fruits:
Please be aware that there has been a further price increase in Bananas (Small, Medium, XL) this week due to the recent heat wave which has affected its production and availability, resulting in scarcity and no guarantee on ripe variety. There has been a price increase in Mangoes, Nectarines, Rock melons and all variety of Pears (Green, Brown, Corella and XL Green) this week. However, we have seen a price decrease in Apricots. Aussie Lemons have gone down in price and are readily available.
